Uncontrolled search path for some Intel(R) Graphics software may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
A weakness has been identified in VeePN up to 1.6.2. This affects an unknown function of the file C:\Program Files (x86)\VeePN\avservice\avservice.exe of the component AVService. This manipulation causes unquoted search path. The attack requires local access. A high degree of complexity is needed for the attack. The exploitability is reported as difficult. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
Uncontrolled search path element for some Intel(R) Network Adapter Driver installers for Windows 11 before version 29.4 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
A vulnerability was found in IObit iTop Data Recovery Pro 4.4.0.687. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality in the library madbasic_.bpl of the component BPL Handler. The manipulation leads to uncontrolled search path. Local access is required to approach this attack. The associated identifier of this vulnerability is VDB-273247. NOTE: The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
Uncontrolled search path for some Clock Jitter Tool software before version 6.0.1 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
Uncontrolled search path for some Intel(R) RealSense™ SDK software before version 2.56.2 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
Uncontrolled search path for some Intel(R) oneAPI Toolkit and component software installers may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
Uncontrolled search path element for some Intel(R) Ethernet Connection software before version 29.4 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
| An insufficient policy enforcement vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks Prisma® Browser on Windows allows a locally authenticated non-admin user to bypass the screenshot control feature of the browser.
Browser self-protection should be enabled to mitigate this issue. |
Trial installer for McAfee Total Protection (legacy trial installer software) 16.0.53 allows local privilege escalation because of an Uncontrolled Search Path Element. The attacker could be "an adversary or knowledgeable user" and the type of attack could be called "DLL-squatting." The issue only affects execution of this installer, and does not leave McAfee Total Protection in a vulnerable state after installation is completed. NOTE: This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.
| When the service of ABP and AES is installed in a directory writable by non-administrative users, an attacker can replace or plant a DLL with the same name as one loaded by the service. Upon service restart, the malicious DLL is loaded and executed under the LocalSystem account, resulting in unauthorized code execution with elevated privileges.
This issue affects ABP and AES: from ABP 2.0 through 2.0.7.9050, from AES 1.0 through 1.0.6.8290. |
Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability in Salesforce Salesforce CLI on Windows allows Replace Trusted Executable. This issue affects Salesforce CLI: before 2.106.6.
DLL Loading vulnerability in NEC Corporation RakurakuMusen Start EX All Verisons allows a attacker to manipulate the PC environment to cause unintended operations on the user's device.
DLL hijacking vulnerabilities, caused by an uncontrolled search path in Flash Programming Utility installer can lead to privilege escalation and arbitrary code execution when running the impacted installer.
DLL hijacking vulnerabilities, caused by an uncontrolled search path in the USBXpress Win 98SE Dev Kit installer can lead to privilege escalation and arbitrary code execution when running the impacted installer.
A DLL hijacking vulnerability was reported in the Lenovo App Store and Lenovo Browser applications that could allow a local authenticated user to execute code with elevated privileges under certain conditions.
Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability in Mitsubishi Electric GENESIS64 versions 10.97.3 and prior, Mitsubishi Electric ICONICS Suite versions 10.97.3 and prior, Mitsubishi Electric Hyper Historian versions 10.97.3 and prior, Mitsubishi Electric GENESIS32 all versions, Mitsubishi Electric MC Works64 all versions, Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions GENESIS64 versions 10.97.3 and prior, Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions ICONICS Suite versions 10.97.3 and prior, Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Hyper Historian versions 10.97.3 and prior, and Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions GENESIS32 all versions allows a local authenticated attacker to execute a malicious code by storing a specially crafted DLL in a specific folder. This could lead to disclose, tamper with, destroy, or delete information in the affected products, or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on the products.
Zilab Remote Console Server 3.2.9 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability that allows local attackers to potentially execute arbitrary code with elevated system privileges. Attackers can exploit the unquoted binary path in the service configuration to inject malicious executables that will be run with LocalSystem permissions.
A security vulnerability has been detected in LibreWolf up to 143.0.4-1 on Windows. This affects an unknown function of the file assets/setup.nsi of the component Installer. Such manipulation leads to uncontrolled search path. The attack must be carried out locally. Attacks of this nature are highly complex. The exploitability is reported as difficult. Upgrading to version 144.0-1 mitigates this issue. The name of the patch is dd10e31dd873e9cb309fad8aed921d45bf905a55. It is suggested to upgrade the affected component.
