CVE-2026-81315 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Ai 2026-08-31 N/A
Origin Validation Error vulnerability in ash-project ash_ai allows a malicious web page to bypass the MCP server's DNS-rebinding protection and issue cross-site requests to a user's local MCP server with that user's actor. In AshAi.Mcp.Server, with the default allowed_origins: nil, origin_allowed?/3 accepts an origin when uri.host == conn.host and the forwarded scheme is https. Both values are attacker-controlled: conn.host comes from the Host header and the scheme is read from the raw x-forwarded-proto header with no trusted-proxy check. Under DNS rebinding the browser sends the attacker's origin and a matching host, and page JavaScript may set X-Forwarded-Proto: https, so the check passes with no TLS or proxy involved. The fix trusts only localhost origins by default; other origins require an explicit allowed_origins allowlist. This issue affects ash_ai: from 0.8.0 before 1.0.0.
CVE-2026-80223 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Graphql 2026-08-31 N/A
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_graphql allows an authenticated subscriber in one tenant to receive another tenant's records over GraphQL subscriptions. The subscription resolver in AshGraphql.Graphql.Resolver authorizes each notification payload in memory: its fast path calls Ash.can/3 with run_queries?: false, which evaluates the read policy filter against the in-memory record via Ash.Expr.eval/2 and never issues a query. Ash applies multitenancy at query-build and data-layer-prefix time, not inside query.filter, so the evaluated policy carries no tenant condition and a tenant-B notification routed to a tenant-A subscriber is emitted whenever the policy filter is true. The single-notification clause has no tenant guard at all, and the batched clause checks only the head of the notification list, so non-head entries authorize purely in memory. A tenant-scoped read is reached only when filter evaluation fails. This issue affects ash_graphql: from 1.4.0 before 1.11.0.
CVE-2026-78693 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Graphql 2026-08-31 N/A
Generation of Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in ash-project ash_graphql allows a remote client to read internal field names that an application configured its error_handler to redact. In AshGraphql.Errors, each error is passed to the configured error_handler and the returned map is merged with the pre-handler path via Map.put_new(handled, :path, path). Because put_new defers to the handler only when the handler itself set :path, a sanitizing handler that returns a fresh map or deletes :path has that decision reverted. The re-injected path comes from build_error_path/5, which falls back to raw internal Ash attribute and argument names when no field_names mapping is configured. A validation failure on a non-exposed or nested field therefore returns internal names in the GraphQL error path, defeating the application's redaction. This issue affects ash_graphql: from 1.9.0 before 1.11.0.
CVE-2026-77850 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Admin 2026-08-31 N/A
Stored Cross-site Scripting vulnerability in ash-project ash_admin executes attacker-supplied record content as script in an administrator's browser. The relationship typeahead components AshAdmin.Components.Resource.RelationshipField and AshAdmin.Components.Resource.ManagedRelationshipSelectField highlight the matched search term by wrapping it in <b> tags and rendering the whole string with Phoenix.HTML.raw/1. The highlighted value is the destination record's label_field, ordinary database content that is often written by lower-privileged users. Because raw/1 disables output escaping for the entire string, a stored label such as <img src=x onerror=...> runs as JavaScript in the admin's session as soon as a matching record appears in the dropdown, giving the attacker the admin's privileges over everything AshAdmin exposes. The fix HTML-escapes the label before inserting the highlight markup. This issue affects ash_admin: from 0.13.0 before 1.3.1.
CVE-2026-75760 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Ai 2026-08-31 N/A
Generation of Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in ash-project ash_ai discloses provider request state and credentials in a user-facing validation error. In AshAi.Changes.Vectorize, when the embedding provider call fails the change added a changeset error whose message inspected the raw error term (An error occurred while generating embeddings: #{inspect(error)}). A plain-string add_error produces an Ash.Error.Changes.InvalidChanges in the :invalid class, which AshJsonApi and AshGraphql render back to the caller. The embedding client's error term is not sanitized, so it can carry the request URL, the provider response body, and, for HTTP clients that keep the request in the error struct, the outbound Authorization header with the provider API key. Failures are attacker-reachable via oversized or malformed vectorized content. The fix logs the raw error and returns a generic message. This issue affects ash_ai: from 0.1.0 before 1.0.0.
CVE-2026-82727 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Phoenix 2026-08-31 N/A
Generation of Error Message Containing Sensitive Information vulnerability in ash-project ash_phoenix writes the entire raw submitted param map into an exception message, so secrets submitted alongside a union form field leak into logs, crash reports and the dev error page. When AshPhoenix.Form.Auto builds a union sub-form and the submitted _union_type does not match a configured type, both raise sites built the message with inspect(params, pretty: true), embedding the full untrusted param map, and also inspected the internal union constraints[:types]. Because the message is constructed by the library rather than Phoenix's parameter logger, config :phoenix, :filter_parameters never redacts it. An attacker controls both the trigger and the contents: submitting %{"_union_type" => "nope", "password" => "..."} puts the password verbatim in the raised message. The fix reports only the offending _union_type and the valid type names, dropping the param and constraints dumps. This issue affects ash_phoenix: from 1.2.17 before 2.3.25.
CVE-2026-82726 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Phoenix 2026-08-31 N/A
Permissive Regular Expression vulnerability in ash-project ash_phoenix lets a remote client select the tenant an Ash application uses, or degrade the request, by sending a crafted Host header. AshPhoenix.Helpers.get_subdomain/2 stripped the root domain with String.replace(host, ~r/.?#{root_host}/, ""). The root host was interpolated raw, so each . became a wildcard and any metacharacter a pattern, and the replace was global and unanchored, so a match was removed from anywhere in the string. With root_host example.com, Host: foo.exampleXcom.attacker.net returned the tenant foo.attacker.net. A metacharacter-bearing or nil root host degraded the pattern or raised on every request. The comparison was also case-sensitive, so TENANT.EXAMPLE.COM and EXAMPLE.COM slipped past the root-host allowlist. conn.host comes from the client Host header. The fix matches the root host case-insensitively and only as an exact trailing suffix. This issue affects ash_phoenix: from 2.1.26 before 2.3.25.
CVE-2026-82673 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Admin 2026-08-31 N/A
Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory (Path Traversal) vulnerability in ash-project ash_admin allows writing attacker-controlled bytes to arbitrary paths on the server. AshAdmin.Components.Resource.Form.consume_file_uploads/1 builds the destination as Path.join([tmp_dir, entry.client_name]) and writes it with File.cp!/2. entry.client_name is the browser-supplied filename and is not sanitized, and Path.join/1 does not normalize ... An upload named ../../../../var/www/app/priv/static/x.png therefore escapes the random temp directory and lands anywhere the BEAM user can write, enabling arbitrary file write and potentially remote code execution by overwriting application assets, configuration, or cron/ssh files. The only guard is an extension allowlist defaulting to :any that checks only the extension. The fix strips path components with Path.basename/1 before joining. This issue affects ash_admin: from 0.13.7 before 1.3.1.
CVE-2026-81316 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Sql 2026-08-31 N/A
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_sql allows a caller to receive an aggregate value computed over rows a more restrictive filter should have excluded, disclosing counts, sums, or lists across an authorization or tenancy boundary. AshSql.Aggregate.different_queries?/2 reports two aggregate queries as different only when their filter and their sort both differ. Aggregate queries rarely carry a sort, so two aggregates that share a name but carry entirely different filters compare as identical. The colliding aggregate keeps its name and is treated as already computed, and select_aggregates returns the first-registered variant's value. The same name reaches the builder twice with different filters when actor or tenant context is stamped into each aggregate's query, so a narrowly filtered aggregate can be served the value of a previously registered broad one. This issue affects ash_sql: from 0.1.0 before 0.7.1.
CVE-2026-80227 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Sql 2026-08-31 N/A
Incorrect Comparison vulnerability in ash-project ash_sql allows a user to pad a string field with tab, newline, carriage-return, or form-feed characters and pass a trimmed uniqueness or equality check in the database that the same expression would fail in memory (or the reverse). string_trim/1 compiles to REGEXP_REPLACE patterns built from an Elixir string in which \s is the escape for a single space (codepoint 32), not a regex whitespace class. The generated SQL therefore removes only literal spaces and leaves tabs, newlines, carriage returns, and form feeds in place, whereas String.trim/1 in Elixir removes them all. Any Ash filter, validation, or identity that relies on string_trim/1 then behaves differently depending on whether Ash pushes the expression down to SQL or evaluates it in memory, so padded input can register a near-duplicate value or slip past a trimmed comparison. This issue affects ash_sql: from 0.1.0 before 0.7.1.
CVE-2026-78691 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Sql 2026-08-31 N/A
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Data Query Logic vulnerability in ash-project ash_sql allows a user who supplies a search term to contains/2, string_starts_with/2, or string_ends_with/2 to inject live SQL LIKE wildcards, turning a literal substring search into an attacker-controlled pattern match. The escape helpers in AshSql.Expr prefix % and _ with a backslash but never escape a backslash already present in the input. Because backslash is the default LIKE escape character, the escaping defeats itself: the input \% becomes the pattern fragment \\%, where \\ is a literal backslash and the attacker's % remains a live wildcard. The search value stays parameterized, so this is confined to the LIKE pattern grammar rather than full SQL. An attacker can widen matches to probe values, slip past a negated contains(...) guard, or crash the query with a trailing lone backslash. This issue affects ash_sql: from 0.1.1-rc.10 before 0.7.1.
CVE-2026-78228 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Oban 2026-08-31 N/A
Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability in ash-project ash_oban allows a user who can drive a trigger's on_error action to fail on the final attempt to exhaust worker CPU and memory, denying service. The generated worker's atomic handle_error/4 runs the trigger's on_error action on a job's final attempt inside a rescue that, when the action itself raises, calls handle_error/4 again with the same job. The job's attempt still equals max_attempts, so it re-enters the same clause and re-runs the failing action, with no exit. Any deterministic on_error failure (a data-layer outage, a misconfigured action, or a record the action rejects) loops forever; because the recursive call is not in tail position, each iteration retains a formatted stacktrace and the process heap grows without bound while the failing statement is re-issued against the data layer until the runtime kills the worker. This issue affects ash_oban: from 0.8.0-rc.1 before 0.8.14.
CVE-2026-78038 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Oban 2026-08-31 N/A
Improperly Controlled Modification of Dynamically-Determined Object Attributes vulnerability in ash-project ash_oban allows a user whose input reaches the :args option of AshOban.build_trigger/3 to retarget an update or destroy trigger at another record, including across tenants. build_trigger/3 builds the trusted job arguments with atom keys (:primary_key, :tenant, :action_arguments) and merges the caller's :args underneath so the trusted values win on collision. Because Oban job arguments round-trip through JSON, the caller's keys arrive as strings, so Map.merge sees no collision and both keys survive. When the job is persisted the JSON object is de-duplicated keeping the last (string) key, and the worker reads the caller's value. The documentation describes :args as unable to affect the action, so an application that forwards user input into it for uniqueness scoping is exposed to authorization bypass and tenant isolation breaks. This issue affects ash_oban: from 0.2.5 before 0.8.14.
CVE-2026-77970 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Paper Trail 2026-08-31 N/A
Cleartext Storage of Sensitive Information vulnerability in ash-project ash_paper_trail allows an attacker with read access to the generated version resource to recover sensitive values nested inside embedded resources, unions, or lists. sensitive_attributes :redact and :ignore only act on the tracked resource's top-level attributes. maybe_redact_changes/3 and the stored-action-input path in AshPaperTrail.Resource.Changes.CreateNewVersion derive the sensitive set from the resource's own attributes and never descend into embedded, union, or list values, so a non-sensitive attribute or action argument that holds an embed with a sensitive? field (for example an accepted credentials embed carrying a token) is written to the version table in cleartext. This issue affects ash_paper_trail: from 0.3.0 before 0.7.0.
CVE-2026-77846 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Sqlite 2026-08-31 N/A
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Data Query Logic vulnerability in ash-project ash_sqlite allows an attacker who controls a get_path/2 segment to traverse into nested JSON the application never exposed, disclosing private or sensitive? embedded fields. AshSqlite.SqlImplementation builds the SQLite json_extract path with "$." <> Enum.join(right, "."), so a single segment containing ., [, ], or $ re-interprets the JSON path (for example "private.secret" descends two levels instead of naming one key). The path is bound as a parameter, so this is confined to the JSON-path grammar rather than SQL. Any endpoint that lets user input reach a get_path segment (a common pick-a-field pattern) can read nested values it never meant to expose. This issue affects ash_sqlite: from 0.1.2-rc.0 before 0.2.18.
CVE-2026-77831 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Paper Trail 2026-08-31 N/A
Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in ash-project ash_paper_trail allows a user who can submit a large array attribute to a paper-trailed create or update action to cause a denial of service through excessive CPU and memory use. With full-diff change tracking, AshPaperTrail.ChangeBuilders.FullDiff.ListChange pairs each prior array element against the new list by rebuilding the remaining-elements accumulator with acc ++ [tuple] on every step, copying the growing list each time, so the pairing scales cubically in the array length. Nothing bounds the length and the value comes straight from action input, so one request carrying a large accepted {:array, _} attribute forces tens of seconds of CPU and multi-gigabyte allocations. This issue affects ash_paper_trail: from 0.1.1 before 0.7.0.
CVE-2026-77454 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Sql 2026-08-31 N/A
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_sql allows a caller to bypass a scoping or authorization filter expressed as exists/2 over a relationship that declares both a limit (or from_many?) and a parent(...)-referencing filter or sort. AshSql.Join.related_query/3 skips the caller-supplied exists predicate for such relationships and delegates it to limit_from_many/5. When the relationship's own filter or sort references parent(...), limit_from_many/5 takes a branch that drops both the limit and the predicate, emitting a bare correlated EXISTS with no predicate. The check then matches any record that has any related row. Most severely, when the expression backs a policy (for example authorize_if expr(exists(memberships, user_id == ^actor(:id)))), the actor-scoping condition disappears and the policy passes for any actor with any related row. This issue affects ash_sql: from 0.4.1 before 0.7.1.
CVE-2026-75757 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Admin 2026-08-31 N/A
Reliance on Cookies without Validation and Integrity Checking vulnerability in ash-project ash_admin lets an attacker who controls a sibling subdomain rebind an admin's session to a different actor, tenant, or authorization mode. AshAdmin's client JavaScript read its state cookies (tenant, actor_resource, actor_primary_key, actor_action, actor_domain, actor_authorizing, actor_paused) by matching the cookie name with an unanchored regular expression (new RegExp(name + "=([^;]+)")) against the whole document.cookie. Any cookie whose name merely ends with the requested name therefore matches, and whichever is serialized first wins. Because cookies are shared across a registrable domain, a compromised sibling subdomain can set a shadowing cookie (for example xactor_authorizing) with Domain=.example.com that flows unvalidated into the admin's LiveSocket connect params. The fix matches cookie names by exact equality. This issue affects ash_admin: from 0.9.1 before 1.3.1.
CVE-2026-81643 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Graphql 2026-08-31 N/A
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_graphql delivers GraphQL subscription payloads for records a subscriber is not authorized to see. In AshGraphql.Subscription.Batcher, do_send/5 resolves the first notification of a batch and filters it with should_send?/1, which drops results whose errors are coded forbidden or not_found or carry no code, precisely so that unauthorized results are not disclosed. The remaining notifications in the batch are read from the process dictionary, re-run through the pipeline, and appended to the outgoing results without that filter. They reach pubsub.publish_subscription/2, and the not is_nil(record) guard drops only nil records, not error-carrying results. Any two qualifying notifications arriving within the default one-second batch interval suffice, and batching is the default path. The fix applies should_send?/1 to the whole batch. This issue affects ash_graphql: from 1.4.0 before 1.11.0.
CVE-2026-82724 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Phoenix 2026-08-31 N/A
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_phoenix invokes the SubdomainHook authorization callback with a nil tenant, so tenant-scoped access checks never see the tenant they are meant to enforce. AshPhoenix.LiveView.SubdomainHook.on_mount/4 attached a handle_params hook to assign the tenant and then immediately called handle_subdomain in the same on_mount. The tenant assign is only written when LiveView later runs handle_params, strictly after on_mount returns, so handle_subdomain read an unset assign and ran as apply(m, f, [socket, nil | a]). A consumer gate that halts when the user does not belong to the tenant instead evaluated nil, either crashing or taking a permissive branch, and it was never re-run once the real subdomain was assigned or on later navigations. The fix runs handle_subdomain inside the handle_params hook with the real tenant on every navigation. This issue affects ash_phoenix: from 2.1.26 before 2.3.25.
