CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: platform: exynos4-is: Add hardware sync wait to fimc_is_hw_change_mode()
In fimc_is_hw_change_mode(), the function changes camera modes without
waiting for hardware completion, risking corrupted data or system hangs
if subsequent operations proceed before the hardware is ready.
Add fimc_is_hw_wait_intmsr0_intmsd0() after mode configuration, ensuring
hardware state synchronization and stable interrupt handling. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
atm: Revert atm_account_tx() if copy_from_iter_full() fails.
In vcc_sendmsg(), we account skb->truesize to sk->sk_wmem_alloc by
atm_account_tx().
It is expected to be reverted by atm_pop_raw() later called by
vcc->dev->ops->send(vcc, skb).
However, vcc_sendmsg() misses the same revert when copy_from_iter_full()
fails, and then we will leak a socket.
Let's factorise the revert part as atm_return_tx() and call it in
the failure path.
Note that the corresponding sk_wmem_alloc operation can be found in
alloc_tx() as of the blamed commit.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
atm: Release atm_dev_mutex after removing procfs in atm_dev_deregister().
syzbot reported a warning below during atm_dev_register(). [0]
Before creating a new device and procfs/sysfs for it, atm_dev_register()
looks up a duplicated device by __atm_dev_lookup(). These operations are
done under atm_dev_mutex.
However, when removing a device in atm_dev_deregister(), it releases the
mutex just after removing the device from the list that __atm_dev_lookup()
iterates over.
So, there will be a small race window where the device does not exist on
the device list but procfs/sysfs are still not removed, triggering the
splat.
Let's hold the mutex until procfs/sysfs are removed in
atm_dev_deregister().

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
kernfs: Relax constraint in draining guard
The active reference lifecycle provides the break/unbreak mechanism but
the active reference is not truly active after unbreak -- callers don't
use it afterwards but it's important for proper pairing of kn->active
counting. Assuming this mechanism is in place, the WARN check in
kernfs_should_drain_open_files() is too sensitive -- it may transiently
catch those (rightful) callers between
kernfs_unbreak_active_protection() and kernfs_put_active() as found out by Chen
Ridong:
kernfs_remove_by_name_ns kernfs_get_active // active=1
__kernfs_remove // active=0x80000002
kernfs_drain ...
wait_event
//waiting (active == 0x80000001)
kernfs_break_active_protection
// active = 0x80000001
// continue
kernfs_unbreak_active_protection
// active = 0x80000002
...
kernfs_should_drain_open_files
// warning occurs
kernfs_put_active
To avoid the false positives (mind panic_on_warn) remove the check altogether.
(This is meant as quick fix, I think active reference break/unbreak may be
simplified with larger rework.) |
| A duplicate `SystemPrincipal` object could be created when parsing a non-system html document via `DOMParser::ParseFromSafeString`. This could have lead to bypassing web security checks. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109. |
| Regular expressions used to filter out forbidden properties and values from style directives in calls to `console.log` weren't accounting for external URLs. Data could then be potentially exfiltrated from the browser. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109, Firefox ESR < 102.7, and Thunderbird < 102.7. |
| Per origin notification permissions were being stored in a way that didn't take into account what browsing context the permission was granted in. This lead to the possibility of notifications to be displayed during different browsing sessions.
*This bug only affects Firefox for Android. Other operating systems are unaffected.* This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109. |
| Due to the Firefox GTK wrapper code's use of text/plain for drag data and GTK treating all text/plain MIMEs containing file URLs as being dragged a website could arbitrarily read a file via a call to `DataTransfer.setData`. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109, Firefox ESR < 102.7, and Thunderbird < 102.7. |
| A website could have obscured the full screen notification by using the file open dialog. This could have led to user confusion and possible spoofing attacks. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 116, Firefox ESR < 115.2, and Thunderbird < 115.2. |
| When checking if the Browsing Context had been discarded in `HttpBaseChannel`, if the load group was not available then it was assumed to have already been discarded which was not always the case for private channels after the private session had ended. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 117, Firefox ESR < 115.2, and Thunderbird < 115.2. |
| Search queries in the default search engine could appear to have been the currently navigated URL if the search query itself was a well formed URL. This could have led to a site spoofing another if it had been maliciously set as the default search engine. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 117. |
| An attacker could have created a malicious link using bidirectional characters to spoof the location in the address bar when visited. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 117, Firefox ESR < 115.4, and Thunderbird < 115.4.1. |
| When `UpdateRegExpStatics` attempted to access `initialStringHeap` it could already have been garbage collected prior to entering the function, which could potentially have led to an exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 117, Firefox ESR < 115.2, and Thunderbird < 115.2. |
| Excel `.xll` add-in files did not have a blocklist entry in Firefox's executable blocklist which allowed them to be downloaded without any warning of their potential harm. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 117, Firefox ESR < 102.15, Firefox ESR < 115.2, Thunderbird < 102.15, and Thunderbird < 115.2. |
| Thunderbird allowed the Text Direction Override Unicode Character in filenames. An email attachment could be incorrectly shown as being a document file, while in fact it was an executable file. Newer versions of Thunderbird will strip the character and show the correct file extension. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 115.0.1 and Thunderbird < 102.13.1. |
| A vulnerability was discovered in how p2p/p2p_pd.c in wpa_supplicant before 2.10 processes P2P (Wi-Fi Direct) provision discovery requests. It could result in denial of service or other impact (potentially execution of arbitrary code), for an attacker within radio range. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
powerpc/fixmap: Fix VM debug warning on unmap
Unmapping a fixmap entry is done by calling __set_fixmap()
with FIXMAP_PAGE_CLEAR as flags.
Today, powerpc __set_fixmap() calls map_kernel_page().
map_kernel_page() is not happy when called a second time
for the same page.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
USB: core: Make do_proc_control() and do_proc_bulk() killable
The USBDEVFS_CONTROL and USBDEVFS_BULK ioctls invoke
usb_start_wait_urb(), which contains an uninterruptible wait with a
user-specified timeout value. If timeout value is very large and the
device being accessed does not respond in a reasonable amount of time,
the kernel will complain about "Task X blocked for more than N
seconds", as found in testing by syzbot:
INFO: task syz-executor.0:8700 blocked for more than 143 seconds.
Not tainted 5.14.0-rc7-syzkaller #0
"echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.

To fix this problem, this patch replaces usbfs's calls to
usb_control_msg() and usb_bulk_msg() with special-purpose code that
does essentially the same thing (as recommended in the comment for
usb_start_wait_urb()), except that it always uses a killable wait and
it uses GFP_KERNEL rather than GFP_NOIO. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ovl: fix warning in ovl_create_real()
Syzbot triggered the following warning in ovl_workdir_create() ->
ovl_create_real():
if (!err && WARN_ON(!newdentry->d_inode)) {
The reason is that the cgroup2 filesystem returns from mkdir without
instantiating the new dentry.
Weird filesystems such as this will be rejected by overlayfs at a later
stage during setup, but to prevent such a warning, call ovl_mkdir_real()
directly from ovl_workdir_create() and reject this case early. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: pcm: oss: Fix negative period/buffer sizes
The period size calculation in OSS layer may receive a negative value
as an error, but the code there assumes only the positive values and
handle them with size_t. Due to that, a too big value may be passed
to the lower layers.
This patch changes the code to handle with ssize_t and adds the proper
error checks appropriately. |
