CVE-2026-50549 1 Cursor 1 Cursor 2026-06-26 N/A
Cursor is a code editor built for programming with AI. Prior to 3.0, Cursor runs agent terminal commands in a sandbox by default. Before a Write, the agent canonicalizes the target path to confirm it stays inside the workspace, but when canonicalization fails it falls back to the original path and writes without approval. A malicious agent can create an in-workspace symlink that points outside the workspace and force canonicalization to fail — either because the target does not exist or because read permission is removed from the path — so the agent writes through the symlink to an arbitrary location without approval. A malicious agent could write arbitrary files outside the workspace under the user's privileges. This enables non-sandboxed Remote Code Execution — for example by overwriting the cursorsandbox helper so later commands run unsandboxed — with no user interaction beyond a benign prompt. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.0.
CVE-2026-54094 1 Filebrowser 1 Filebrowser 2026-06-25 7.5 High
File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to 2.63.14, it does not stop the HTTP file handlers from following symbolic links before they open, serve, write, share, or list a file. As a result, a scoped user — and in some cases an unauthenticated public-share recipient — can cross the intended scope boundary by following a symlink whose path is lexically inside their scope but whose target is outside it. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.63.14.
CVE-2026-52811 1 Gogs 1 Gogs 2026-06-25 N/A
Gogs is an open source self-hosted Git service. Prior to 0.14.3, (*Repository).UploadRepoFiles checks for symlinks only on the leaf of the upload target (osx.IsSymlink(targetPath)). The siblings UpdateRepoFile, DeleteRepoFile, and GetDiffPreview use hasSymlinkInPath, which lstats every component — UploadRepoFiles is the lone outlier. An attacker with repo-write access plus a multipart upload whose filename contains a literal backslash (preserved by filepath.Base on Linux, then converted to / by pathx.Clean) redirects the write through a previously-committed directory symlink. iox.CopyFile opens the destination with os.Create (no O_NOFOLLOW), so the kernel follows the parent symlink and writes attacker bytes anywhere the gogs UID can write — ~git/.ssh/authorized_keys → SSH foothold, or <repo>.git/hooks/post-receive → next-push RCE. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.14.3.
CVE-2026-53089 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-25 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix use-after-free in offloaded map/prog info fill When querying info for an offloaded BPF map or program, bpf_map_offload_info_fill_ns() and bpf_prog_offload_info_fill_ns() obtain the network namespace with get_net(dev_net(offmap->netdev)). However, the associated netdev's netns may be racing with teardown during netns destruction. If the netns refcount has already reached 0, get_net() performs a refcount_t increment on 0, triggering: refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free. Although rtnl_lock and bpf_devs_lock ensure the netdev pointer remains valid, they cannot prevent the netns refcount from reaching zero. Fix this by using maybe_get_net() instead of get_net(). maybe_get_net() uses refcount_inc_not_zero() and returns NULL if the refcount is already zero, which causes ns_get_path_cb() to fail and the caller to return -ENOENT -- the correct behavior when the netns is being destroyed.
CVE-2026-47833 1 Cloudfoundry 1 Bpm-release 2026-06-24 6.1 Medium
setupBpmLogs follows symlink for bpm.log open and chown — container-to-host privilege escalation via /etc/shadow. A compromised process inside a bpm container can cause root to chown an arbitrary host file to vcap and append bpm JSON log lines to it. The chown alone lets the attacker take ownership of /etc/shadow and read every password hash on the host via the read-only /etc bind mount. This is a container-to-host confidentiality break affecting every bpm-managed job. Affected versions: bpm-release, all versions prior to v1.4.30.
CVE-2026-55443 1 Langchain-ai 1 Langchain 2026-06-24 5.1 Medium
LangChain is a framework for building agents and LLM-powered applications. Prior to 1.3.9, several LangChain components that resolve filesystem paths or expand search patterns do not consistently confine the resolved path to the intended root directory. Affected behaviors include: a file-search agent middleware that validates a starting directory but not the search pattern or the resolved target of matched files, so glob patterns and symlinks can reach files outside the configured root; prompt- and chain/agent-configuration loaders that accept path fields and resolve them without confining the result to a trusted base or rejecting symlink targets; and path-prefix authorization checks that compare by string prefix without a path-segment boundary, so a sibling path sharing the prefix is accepted. When these components receive path values, search patterns, or workspace contents influenced by an untrusted source — including an LLM acting on untrusted input — the result can be disclosure of files outside the intended boundary. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.3.9.
CVE-2026-44274 1 Dell 1 Wyse Management Suite 2026-06-24 7.8 High
Dell Wyse Management Suite (WMS), versions prior to WMS 2605, contain an Improper Link Resolution Before File Access vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Unauthorized access.
CVE-2026-56236 1 Capgo 1 Cli 2026-06-23 6.1 Medium
Capgo CLI before 12.128.2 contains arbitrary file overwrite vulnerabilities in login and build credentials operations that follow symlinks without validation. Attackers can create malicious symlinks in repositories to overwrite arbitrary files or expose credentials with world-readable permissions when developers run the CLI.
CVE-2026-9804 1 Redhat 2 Container Native Virtualization, Openshift Virtualization 2026-06-22 7.7 High
A flaw was found in KubeVirt's virt-exportserver component. An attacker with specific namespace-level access can exploit a path traversal vulnerability in the VMExport directory endpoint. By placing a symbolic link (symlink) within an exported filesystem Persistent Volume Claim (PVC) that points outside its designated mount root, the attacker can read arbitrary files from the exporter pod's filesystem. This leads to information disclosure, potentially exposing sensitive data.
CVE-2026-12567 1 Black Lantern Security 1 Bbot 2026-06-20 2.2 Low
The github_workflows module constructs local directory paths from user-controlled repository names without validating for symlinks. A local attacker sharing the scan directory can plant a symlink at the predictable output path, causing workflow data to be written to an attacker-chosen location.
CVE-2025-24104 1 Apple 2 Ipados, Iphone Os 2026-06-18 5.5 Medium
This issue was addressed with improved handling of symlinks. This issue is fixed in iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3, iPadOS 17.7.4. Restoring a maliciously crafted backup file may lead to modification of protected system files.
CVE-2026-47277 1 Runtipi 1 Runtipi 2026-06-17 6.5 Medium
Runtipi is a personal homeserver orchestrator. In versions 4.9.1 through 4.9.3, Runtipi serves marketplace app logos from files inside cloned app-store repositories through an unauthenticated endpoint, which leads to arbitrary file read through app-store logo symlinks. The path guard checks only the lexical path before Node reads the file, so a Git app store that contains metadata/logo.jpg as a symbolic link can cause Runtipi to read and return the symlink target. Because the endpoint is public and the symlink target may point outside the cloned repository, this can expose local files from the Runtipi container such as /data/.env, /data/state/seed, logs, or application files. This can disclose JWT secrets, service credentials, local configuration, and operational logs depending on the instance. The issue has been fixed in version 4.10.0.
CVE-2026-54055 1 Kovidgoyal 1 Kitty 2026-06-16 5 Medium
Kitty is a cross-platform GPU based terminal. In versions prior to 0.47.2, a local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in kitty's file transmission protocol where a child process running in the terminal can write to arbitrary files on the filesystem by exploiting a TOCTOU (Time-of-Check-Time-of-Use) race condition between symlink validation and file creation. The `os.open()` call used to create files does not use `O_NOFOLLOW`, allowing an attacker to create a symlink between the initial stat check and the actual file open, causing the write to follow the symlink to an arbitrary destination. Version 0.47.2 fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-54056 1 Kovidgoyal 1 Kitty 2026-06-16 7.6 High
Kitty is a cross-platform GPU based terminal. In versions 0.47.0 and 0.47.1, `kitten dnd` can allow a malicious remote drag-and-drop source to overwrite or truncate arbitrary files writable by the local kitty user. Remote `text/uri-list` drops are staged in a temporary directory, but on case-sensitive filesystems duplicate remote basenames are not de-duplicated. An attacker can first create a staged symlink and then send a same-name regular-file entry. The regular-file write uses `utils.CreateAt()` / `openat(O_RDWR|O_CREAT|O_TRUNC)` without `O_NOFOLLOW`, so it follows the attacker-created symlink and writes outside the staging directory before final overwrite confirmation runs. This appears related in class to the file-transfer symlink advisory, but it is a different bug: it affects `kitten dnd` remote drag-and-drop staging, uses different vulnerable code (`kittens/dnd/drop.go` and `tools/utils/file_at_fd.go`), and reproduces on commit `4aa4a5c0567a92553a8c20a88a4352da637fca5d`, after the file-transfer `O_NOFOLLOW` fix. Version 0.47.2 patches the issue.
CVE-2026-53476 1 Kubev2v 2 Assisted-migration-agent, Assisted Migration Agent 2026-06-16 9.6 Critical
A flaw was found in assisted-migration-agent. An unauthenticated attacker, located on the same local area network (LAN), can exploit a path traversal vulnerability. By crafting a specially designed gzipped tarball, the attacker can bypass security checks and write arbitrary files to the system. This could ultimately lead to the execution of unauthorized code on the appliance.
CVE-2026-54230 1 Redhat 1 Enterprise Linux 2026-06-15 7 High
A symlink following vulnerability was found in the ABRT post-create event handler scripts in libreport. Event scripts write output files using shell redirections without the O_NOFOLLOW flag. If the target file is replaced with a symlink, the shell process running as root follows the symlink and writes content to the symlink target, allowing arbitrary file overwrites on the system.
CVE-2026-48855 1 Erlang 4 Erlang/otp, Erlang\/otp, Erlang\/ssh and 1 more 2026-06-15 6.5 Medium
Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor vulnerability in Erlang OTP ssh (ssh_sftpd module) allows File Discovery. The SSH_FXP_READLINK handler in ssh_sftpd sends the raw result of file:read_link/2 to the client without calling chroot_filename/2 to strip the backend root prefix. An authenticated SFTP client can create a symlink inside the chroot pointing to /; ssh_sftpd resolves the target to the absolute backend root and stores it on disk. Reading the symlink back via SSH_FXP_READLINK returns that absolute path, for example /data/sftp, instead of the chrooted value /. The information disclosed is the absolute filesystem path of the SFTP root directory and of any symlink targets within it. No file contents, credentials, or access to paths outside the root directory are obtainable through this issue alone. This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/ssh/src/ssh_sftpd.erl. This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before 29.0.2, 28.5.0.2 and 27.3.4.13 corresponding to ssh from 3.0.1 before 6.0.1, 5.5.2.1 and 5.2.11.8.
CVE-2025-7006 1 Gen Digital 5 Avast Antivirus, Avast Business Antivirus, Avast One and 2 more 2026-06-15 5.5 Medium
Use of stack memory after free vulnerability in Avast Antivirus when scanning a malformed Windows PE file may allow Denial-of-Service of the antivirus process. This issue affects Avast Antivirus, AVG Antivirus, Norton Antivirus, Avast One, and Avast Business Antivirus on Windows, macOS, and Linux for virus definition builds before VPS 25022500. The affected scanning logic is delivered through a shared Gen Digital virus definition update stream. The same stream feeds the consumer antivirus products listed in this advisory and other Gen Digital products that embed the same engine. Mitigation flows through this update channel; installations at or above the listed build are not vulnerable regardless of which product consumes the stream.
CVE-2025-46293 1 Apple 1 Macos 2026-06-12 5.5 Medium
This issue was addressed with improved handling of symlinks. This issue is fixed in macOS Sequoia 15.4. An app may be able to access protected user data.
CVE-2026-49219 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-06-11 5.5 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 6.9.13-48 and 7.1.2-24, an incorrect parsing of the filename can result in a policy bypass and read files disallowed by a security policy using a symlink. This issue has been patched in versions 6.9.13-48 and 7.1.2-24.
