CVE-2026-41523 2 Vllm, Vllm-project 2 Vllm, Vllm 2026-09-02 7.5 High
vLLM is an inference and serving engine for large language models (LLMs). Prior to 0.22.0, an assert-based security check in vLLM's activation function loading allows any unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution on the server by publishing a malicious HuggingFace model, when vLLM runs in Python optimized mode (python -O or PYTHONOPTIMIZE=1). This vulnerability is fixed in 0.22.0.
CVE-2026-14957 1 Libreswan 1 Libreswan 2026-09-02 7.5 High
In FIPS mode, Libreswan's add_decoded_cert() function calls CERT_ExtractPublicKey() and asserts that the result is not NULL. However, CERT_ExtractPublicKey() returns NULL when public key extraction fails, for example if the RSA exponent is set to 0. A remote attacker can send a malformed X.509 certificate in a CERT payload to trigger the assertion, causing the pluto daemon to abort and restart. Continued exploitation causes a denial of service. No remote code execution is possible. Both IKEv1 and IKEv2 are affected. The vulnerability is only exploitable when both the OS and libreswan are running in FIPS mode and at least one CA certificate is loaded. The CERT payload is processed before peer authentication, so no credentials are needed to exploit this. Configurations using only PreSharedKey (PSK) authentication with no CA certificates loaded in the NSS database are not vulnerable.
CVE-2026-80644 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-02 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: don't BUG_ON an invalid journal dinode [BUG] A fuzzed OCFS2 image can corrupt the current slot journal dinode while mount is still in progress. The mount path first reports the invalid journal block and then crashes in shutdown: kernel BUG at fs/ocfs2/journal.c:1034! Oops: invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] SMP KASAN NOPTI RIP: 0010:ocfs2_journal_toggle_dirty+0x2d6/0x340 fs/ocfs2/journal.c:1034 Call Trace: ocfs2_journal_shutdown+0x414/0xc30 fs/ocfs2/journal.c:1116 ocfs2_mount_volume fs/ocfs2/super.c:1785 [inline] ocfs2_fill_super+0x30a9/0x3cd0 fs/ocfs2/super.c:1083 get_tree_bdev_flags+0x38b/0x640 fs/super.c:1698 get_tree_bdev+0x24/0x40 fs/super.c:1721 ocfs2_get_tree+0x21/0x30 fs/ocfs2/super.c:1184 vfs_get_tree+0x9a/0x370 fs/super.c:1758 fc_mount fs/namespace.c:1199 [inline] do_new_mount_fc fs/namespace.c:3642 [inline] do_new_mount fs/namespace.c:3718 [inline] path_mount+0x5b8/0x1ea0 fs/namespace.c:4028 do_mount fs/namespace.c:4041 [inline] __do_sys_mount fs/namespace.c:4229 [inline] __se_sys_mount fs/namespace.c:4206 [inline] __x64_sys_mount+0x282/0x320 fs/namespace.c:4206 ... [CAUSE] ocfs2_journal_toggle_dirty() used to return -EIO when journal->j_bh no longer contained a valid dinode, because the startup and shutdown paths already handled that failure. Commit 10995aa2451a ("ocfs2: Morph the haphazard OCFS2_IS_VALID_DINODE() checks.") changed the check to a BUG_ON() under the assumption that the journal dinode had already been validated. That turns an unexpected invalid journal dinode during mount teardown into a kernel crash instead of a normal mount failure. [FIX] Replace the BUG_ON() with WARN_ON() and return -EIO. This keeps the invariant warning for debugging, but restores the original behavior of failing startup or shutdown cleanly instead of panicking the kernel.
CVE-2020-8619 7 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more 7 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 4 more 2026-09-01 4.9 Medium
In ISC BIND9 versions BIND 9.11.14 -> 9.11.19, BIND 9.14.9 -> 9.14.12, BIND 9.16.0 -> 9.16.3, BIND Supported Preview Edition 9.11.14-S1 -> 9.11.19-S1: Unless a nameserver is providing authoritative service for one or more zones and at least one zone contains an empty non-terminal entry containing an asterisk ("*") character, this defect cannot be encountered. A would-be attacker who is allowed to change zone content could theoretically introduce such a record in order to exploit this condition to cause denial of service, though we consider the use of this vector unlikely because any such attack would require a significant privilege level and be easily traceable.
CVE-2018-5745 2 Isc, Redhat 2 Bind, Enterprise Linux 2026-09-01 4.9 Medium
"managed-keys" is a feature which allows a BIND resolver to automatically maintain the keys used by trust anchors which operators configure for use in DNSSEC validation. Due to an error in the managed-keys feature it is possible for a BIND server which uses managed-keys to exit due to an assertion failure if, during key rollover, a trust anchor's keys are replaced with keys which use an unsupported algorithm. Versions affected: BIND 9.9.0 -> 9.10.8-P1, 9.11.0 -> 9.11.5-P1, 9.12.0 -> 9.12.3-P1, and versions 9.9.3-S1 -> 9.11.5-S3 of BIND 9 Supported Preview Edition. Versions 9.13.0 -> 9.13.6 of the 9.13 development branch are also affected. Versions prior to BIND 9.9.0 have not been evaluated for vulnerability to CVE-2018-5745.

CVE-2026-19401 1 Nlnetlabs 1 Nsd 2026-09-01 N/A
Any remote client can crash a (debugging/non-release build type) NSD serve child by sending it a special crafted message with a specially tuned number of DNS Cookie options (17 when UDP payload size is 512). By continuously crashing the serve childs, the remote client can severely hamper or, when positioned sufficiently close, deny all DNS service.
CVE-2026-82590 1 Open5gs 1 Open5gs 2026-08-31 4.3 Medium
A weakness has been identified in Open5GS up to 2.7.7. The affected element is the function smf_nudm_sdm_handle_get of the file src/smf/nudm-handler.c of the component SMF. Executing a manipulation of the argument preemptCap can lead to reachable assertion. The attack may be launched remotely. Upgrading to version 2.8.0 is sufficient to fix this issue. This patch is called 4554405f29bffd7562abedbee63484825bd90cd5. You should upgrade the affected component.

CVE-2026-53532 2026-08-28 6.5 Medium
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.12, a crafted HTJ2K-compressed EXR file causes an unconditional process abort in any application that calls exr_start_read() on untrusted input, resulting in denial of service. The crash is triggered by a QCD marker whose lower five bits are zero, which OpenEXR passes into the vendored OpenJPH library while constructing the codestream and evaluating its quantization delta parameters. OpenJPH uses an assertion rather than a recoverable error to validate those bits, so any invalid value calls abort() directly and cannot be intercepted by surrounding error handling, a problem compounded by OpenEXR wrapping only its internal HT header parser in error handling while leaving the later codestream read and construction calls unprotected. This issue has been resolved in version 3.4.13.
CVE-2026-30046 1 Open5gs 1 Open5gs 2026-08-28 7.5 High
A reachable assertion vulnerability in the NUDM-UECM interface of Open5GS v2.7.6 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via supplying a crafted DELETE request.
CVE-2026-80541 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-28 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: validate GEM_CREATE domain combinations AMDGPU_GEM_CREATE checked domain bits against AMDGPU_GEM_DOMAIN_MASK, but did not validate domain combinations. Userspace could combine CPU|GTT|VRAM with DOORBELL, GDS, GWS, or OA, making amdgpu_bo_placement_from_domain() exceed AMDGPU_BO_MAX_PLACEMENTS and hit BUG_ON(). Allow combinations only within CPU/GTT/VRAM, and require non-CPU/GTT/ VRAM domains to be specified one at a time. Return -EINVAL for invalid combinations in amdgpu_gem_create_ioctl(). v2: Rename helper from amdgpu_gem_domain_valid() to amdgpu_gem_are_domains_valid() (Christian) (cherry picked from commit db39852d0c39843cb02048dfb47e4b8c703e9080)
CVE-2026-30047 1 Open5gs 1 Open5gs 2026-08-28 7.5 High
A reachable assertion vulnerability in the /nsmf-pdusession/v1/sm-contexts component of Open5GS v2.7.6 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via supplying a crafted DELETE request.
CVE-2026-5946 2 Isc, Redhat 3 Bind, Bind 9, Hummingbird 2026-08-27 7.5 High
Multiple flaws have been identified in `named` related to the handling of DNS messages whose CLASS is not Internet (`IN`) — for example, `CHAOS` or `HESIOD`, or DNS messages that specify meta-classes (`ANY` or `NONE`) in the question section. Specially crafted requests reaching the affected code paths — recursion, dynamic updates (`UPDATE`), zone change notifications (`NOTIFY`), or processing of `IN`-specific record types in non-`IN` data — can cause assertion failures in `named`. This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.11.0 through 9.16.50, 9.18.0 through 9.18.48, 9.20.0 through 9.20.22, 9.21.0 through 9.21.21, 9.11.3-S1 through 9.16.50-S1, 9.18.11-S1 through 9.18.48-S1, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.22-S1.
CVE-2026-43667 1 Apple 3 Ios And Ipados, Ipados, Iphone Os 2026-08-26 6.5 Medium
A reachable assertion was addressed with improved input validation. This issue is fixed in iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10, iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5, macOS Tahoe 26.5, visionOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5. An attacker in a privileged network position may be able to cause a denial-of-service.
CVE-2026-54920 1 Academysoftwarefoundation 1 Openexr 2026-08-25 0 Low
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.12, a reachable assertion failure in the HTJ2K decode path allows a crafted HTJ2K-compressed EXR file to cause an unconditional process abort in any application that calls exr_start_read() on untrusted input, resulting in denial of service. The crash is triggered by a QCD marker whose lower five bits are zero, which OpenEXR passes into the vendored OpenJPH library while constructing the codestream and evaluating its quantization delta parameters. CVE-2026-74619 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ovl: don't warn when the mount is completed from another user namespace fsopen() records the caller's user namespace in fc->user_ns and hands back an ordinary file descriptor. Nothing ties the task that calls fsconfig(FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE) to the task that created the context. The fd is inherited across fork() and exec() and it can be passed over a unix socket. Completing a context from another user namespace is allowed on purpose. vfs_cmd_create() authorizes the create with mount_capable(), which for FS_USERNS_MOUNT checks ns_capable(fc->user_ns, CAP_SYS_ADMIN), and that succeeds for a task holding CAP_SYS_ADMIN in an ancestor of fc->user_ns. So an unprivileged task can reach the WARN_ON() in ovl_fill_super(): create a user and a mount namespace in a child, call fsopen("overlay") there, send the fscontext fd to the parent and let the parent issue FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE. Both namespaces come from a plain unshare(1) and no capability is needed anywhere: WARNING: fs/overlayfs/super.c:1551 at ovl_fill_super+0x7b9/0x1e20 [overlay] CPU: 3 UID: 1000 PID: 3243376 Comm: fswarn Call Trace: get_tree_nodev+0x71/0xa0 ovl_get_tree+0x15/0x20 [overlay] vfs_get_tree+0x2a/0x100 vfs_cmd_create+0x60/0xf0 __do_sys_fsconfig+0x4b2/0x500 The child needs the mount namespace because fsopen() itself gates on may_mount(), which asks for CAP_SYS_ADMIN in the user namespace owning the caller's mount namespace. fsconfig() doesn't repeat that check. It is a WARN_ON() and not a WARN_ON_ONCE(), so the condition can be raised in a loop to taint the kernel and flood the log, and it panics a kernel booted with panic_on_warn. Keep refusing the mount and stop warning about it. ovl_parse_param() already spells a user namespace check this way for Opt_override_creds.
CVE-2026-74716 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/amdxdna: Fix locally exploitable BUG_ON in amdxdna_insert_pages() In amdxdna_insert_pages(), vm_flags_mod() sets VM_MIXEDMAP and clears VM_PFNMAP. If an unprivileged userspace process mmaps a non-imported GEM object and then calls madvise(MADV_DONTNEED), the PTEs will be successfully cleared because VM_MIXEDMAP allows this (unlike VM_PFNMAP). When userspace subsequently accesses the memory, drm_gem_shmem_fault() handles the page fault and attempts to map the backing shmem page via vmf_insert_pfn() which calls vmf_insert_pfn_prot(). Because the backing shmem page is normal system memory (pfn_valid(pfn) is true) and the VMA now has VM_MIXEDMAP set, won't this predictably trigger the explicit assertion BUG_ON((vma->vm_flags & VM_MIXEDMAP) && pfn_valid(pfn)) Fix by removing the vm_flags_mod() call and replacing the vm_insert_pages() pre-population with the handle_mm_fault() loop that was already used for the import (dma-buf) path.
