CVE-2026-31521 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-29 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: module: Fix kernel panic when a symbol st_shndx is out of bounds The module loader doesn't check for bounds of the ELF section index in simplify_symbols(): for (i = 1; i < symsec->sh_size / sizeof(Elf_Sym); i++) { const char *name = info->strtab + sym[i].st_name; switch (sym[i].st_shndx) { case SHN_COMMON: [...] default: /* Divert to percpu allocation if a percpu var. */ if (sym[i].st_shndx == info->index.pcpu) secbase = (unsigned long)mod_percpu(mod); else /** HERE --> **/ secbase = info->sechdrs[sym[i].st_shndx].sh_addr; sym[i].st_value += secbase; break; } } A symbol with an out-of-bounds st_shndx value, for example 0xffff (known as SHN_XINDEX or SHN_HIRESERVE), may cause a kernel panic: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ... RIP: 0010:simplify_symbols+0x2b2/0x480 ... Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception This can happen when module ELF is legitimately using SHN_XINDEX or when it is corrupted. Add a bounds check in simplify_symbols() to validate that st_shndx is within the valid range before using it. This issue was discovered due to a bug in llvm-objcopy, see relevant discussion for details [1]. [1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-modules/20251224005752.201911-1-ihor.solodrai@linux.dev/
CVE-2026-31483 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-29 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/syscalls: Add spectre boundary for syscall dispatch table The s390 syscall number is directly controlled by userspace, but does not have an array_index_nospec() boundary to prevent access past the syscall function pointer tables.
CVE-2026-31497 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-29 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btusb: clamp SCO altsetting table indices btusb_work() maps the number of active SCO links to USB alternate settings through a three-entry lookup table when CVSD traffic uses transparent voice settings. The lookup currently indexes alts[] with data->sco_num - 1 without first constraining sco_num to the number of available table entries. While the table only defines alternate settings for up to three SCO links, data->sco_num comes from hci_conn_num() and is used directly. Cap the lookup to the last table entry before indexing it so the driver keeps selecting the highest supported alternate setting without reading past alts[].
CVE-2026-31512 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-28 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: Validate PDU length before reading SDU length in l2cap_ecred_data_rcv() l2cap_ecred_data_rcv() reads the SDU length field from skb->data using get_unaligned_le16() without first verifying that skb contains at least L2CAP_SDULEN_SIZE (2) bytes. When skb->len is less than 2, this reads past the valid data in the skb. The ERTM reassembly path correctly calls pskb_may_pull() before reading the SDU length (l2cap_reassemble_sdu, L2CAP_SAR_START case). Apply the same validation to the Enhanced Credit Based Flow Control data path.
CVE-2026-41677 1 Rust-openssl Project 1 Rust-openssl 2026-04-28 9.1 Critical
rust-openssl provides OpenSSL bindings for the Rust programming language. From 0.9.0 to before 0.10.78, the *_from_pem_callback APIs did not validate the length returned by the user's callback. A password callback that returns a value larger than the buffer it was given can cause some versions of OpenSSL to over-read this buffer. OpenSSL 3.x is not affected by this. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.10.78.
CVE-2026-41285 1 Openbsd 1 Openbsd 2026-04-28 4.3 Medium
In OpenBSD through 7.8, the slaacd and rad daemons have an infinite loop when they receive a crafted ICMPv6 Neighbor Discovery (ND) option (over a local network) with length zero, because of an "nd_opt_len * 8 - 2" expression with no preceding check for whether nd_opt_len is zero.
CVE-2026-31495 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-28 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ctnetlink: use netlink policy range checks Replace manual range and mask validations with netlink policy annotations in ctnetlink code paths, so that the netlink core rejects invalid values early and can generate extack errors. - CTA_PROTOINFO_TCP_STATE: reject values > TCP_CONNTRACK_SYN_SENT2 at policy level, removing the manual >= TCP_CONNTRACK_MAX check. - CTA_PROTOINFO_TCP_WSCALE_ORIGINAL/REPLY: reject values > TCP_MAX_WSCALE (14). The normal TCP option parsing path already clamps to this value, but the ctnetlink path accepted 0-255, causing undefined behavior when used as a u32 shift count. - CTA_FILTER_ORIG_FLAGS/REPLY_FLAGS: use NLA_POLICY_MASK with CTA_FILTER_F_ALL, removing the manual mask checks. - CTA_EXPECT_FLAGS: use NLA_POLICY_MASK with NF_CT_EXPECT_MASK, adding a new mask define grouping all valid expect flags. Extracted from a broader nf-next patch by Florian Westphal, scoped to ctnetlink for the fixes tree.
CVE-2026-40886 1 Argoproj 2 Argo-workflows, Argo Workflows 2026-04-28 7.7 High
Argo Workflows is an open source container-native workflow engine for orchestrating parallel jobs on Kubernetes. From 3.6.5 to 4.0.4, an unchecked array index in the pod informer's podGCFromPod() function causes a controller-wide panic when a workflow pod carries a malformed workflows.argoproj.io/pod-gc-strategy annotation. Because the panic occurs inside an informer goroutine (outside the controller's recover() scope), it crashes the entire controller process. The poisoned pod persists across restarts, causing a crash loop that halts all workflow processing until the pod is manually deleted. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.0.5 and 3.7.14.
CVE-2026-31484 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-28 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring/fdinfo: fix OOB read in SQE_MIXED wrap check __io_uring_show_fdinfo() iterates over pending SQEs and, for 128-byte SQEs on an IORING_SETUP_SQE_MIXED ring, needs to detect when the second half of the SQE would be past the end of the sq_sqes array. The current check tests (++sq_head & sq_mask) == 0, but sq_head is only incremented when a 128-byte SQE is encountered, not on every iteration. The actual array index is sq_idx = (i + sq_head) & sq_mask, which can be sq_mask (the last slot) while the wrap check passes. Fix by checking sq_idx directly. Keep the sq_head increment so the loop still skips the second half of the 128-byte SQE on the next iteration.
CVE-2026-29645 2 Openxiangshan, Xiangshan 2 Nemu, Nemu 2026-04-28 7.5 High
NEMU (OpenXiangShan/NEMU) before v2025.12.r2 contains an improper instruction-validation flaw in its RISC-V Vector (RVV) decoder. The decoder does not correctly validate the funct3 field when decoding vsetvli/vsetivli/vsetvl, allowing certain invalid OP-V instruction encodings to be misinterpreted and executed as vset* configuration instructions rather than raising an illegal-instruction exception. This can be exploited by providing crafted RISC-V binaries to cause incorrect trap behavior, architectural state corruption/divergence, and potential denial of service in systems that rely on NEMU for correct execution or sandboxing.
