CVSS v3.1 |
| ws is an open source WebSocket client and server for Node.js. Prior to 8.20.1, the websocket.close() implementation is vulnerable to uninitialized memory disclosure when a TypedArray is passed as the reason argument. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.20.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: synaptics-rmi4 - propagate F54 worker errors to V4L2 queue
Previously, rmi_f54_buffer_queue() waited for the worker thread to
finish but ignored whether it succeeded. If the worker failed (e.g.,
due to a timeout or register read failure), the queue thread would
silently return success, delivering stale or uninitialized memory to
userspace.
Add a 'report_error' field to struct f54_data to store the worker's exit
status. Check this field in rmi_f54_buffer_queue() after the worker
finishes, and mark the buffer as VB2_BUF_STATE_ERROR if an error
occurred. |

| OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image file format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, the PyOpenEXR Python bindings return stale heap data when reading a crafted deep scanline EXR that uses layer-prefixed RGB channels. With the default channel coalescing (separate_channels=False), the wrapper groups channels such as left.R, left.G, and left.B into a single RGB sample array, but the lane-offset calculation in PyPart::setDeepSliceData() only recognizes the exact unprefixed names G, B, and A. As a result, prefixed channels like left.G and left.B are decoded into lane 0 while lanes 1 and 2 are left uninitialized and returned to Python. A Python application that reads untrusted deep EXR files through the default OpenEXR.File API and then logs, serializes, previews, or otherwise processes the resulting NumPy sample arrays may expose uninitialized same-process heap contents, in addition to receiving incorrect green and blue channel data. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.13 and 3.4.14. |
| A vulnerability was found in vLLM up to 0.19.0. The affected element is the function has_mamba_layers of the file vllm/v1/kv_cache_interface.py of the component KV Block Handler. Performing a manipulation results in uninitialized resource. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The attack is considered to have high complexity. The exploitability is described as difficult. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The existence of this vulnerability is still disputed at present. The proposed patch did not fix the issue. A 3rd party explains: "The divergence could be explained by a benign and expected vLLM behavior where vLLM server could group concurrent requests together resulting in different input shapes based on varying request arrival time. The differences in grouped input shapes could call different kernels with could produce difference results due to rounding and differences in order of operations. There is an environment variable VLLM_BATCH_INVARIANT=1 for users that desire to have deterministic output with temperature 0.0." |
| IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 A stack memory corruption vulnerability exists in the AIX IPsec ESP decapsulation handler. Successful exploitation may corrupt kernel stack state and cause a system crash, resulting in denial of service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ring-buffer: Initialise reader page order in rb_allocate_cpu_buffer()
In rb_allocate_cpu_buffer(), bpage->order was omitted, leaving it as 0.
This is an issue for a ring-buffer with subbufs bigger than PAGE_SIZE if
when freed: free_buffer_page() relies on this value. Align the value
with the actual allocation size (buffer::subbuf_order). |
| An information disclosure vulnerability in the URL Filtering feature of Palo Alto Networks PAN-OSĀ® software enables an unauthenticated user with network access to obtain sensitive information.
Panorama is not impacted by this vulnerability. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dibs: initialise dibs->lock in dibs_dev_alloc()
dibs->lock is initialised by dibs_dev_add(), but a dibs device can
already take interrupts before that call: ism_probe() runs
ism_dev_init(), and hence request_irq(), before it calls
dibs_dev_add(). No client can have registered a dmb at that point, so
no dmb interrupt can occur, but a GID event interrupt can, and
ism_handle_irq() takes dibs->lock unconditionally on entry, before it
inspects anything else.
Initialise the lock in dibs_dev_alloc() instead, so that it is valid as
soon as a driver can publish the device to its interrupt handler. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/bnxt_re: zero shared page before exposing to userspace
bnxt_re_alloc_ucontext() allocates uctx->shpg via
__get_free_page(GFP_KERNEL). The buddy allocator does not zero pages
without __GFP_ZERO, so the page contains stale kernel data from
whatever object most recently freed it.
The page is then mapped into userspace via vm_insert_page() under
BNXT_RE_MMAP_SH_PAGE in bnxt_re_mmap(). The driver only ever writes
4 bytes (a u32 AVID) at offset BNXT_RE_AVID_OFFT (0x10) inside
bnxt_re_create_ah(); the remaining 4092 bytes of the page are exposed
to userspace unsanitised, leaking kernel memory contents.
Any user with access to /dev/infiniband/uverbsX on a host with a
bnxt_re device (typically rdma group membership) can read this data
via a single mmap() at pgoff 0 after IB_USER_VERBS_CMD_GET_CONTEXT.
Other shared pages in the same file already use get_zeroed_page()
correctly:
drivers/infiniband/hw/bnxt_re/ib_verbs.c
srq->uctx_srq_page = (void *)get_zeroed_page(GFP_KERNEL);
cq->uctx_cq_page = (void *)get_zeroed_page(GFP_KERNEL);
uctx->shpg is the only outlier. Bring it in line with the existing
convention by switching to get_zeroed_page(). |
| IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service due to the use of an uninitialized stack pointer. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
VDUSE: avoid leaking information to userspace
The bounceing is not necessarily page aligned, so current VDUSE can
leak kernel information through mapping bounce pages to
userspace. Allocate bounce pages with __GFP_ZERO to avoid leaking
information to userspace. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/mm_init: fix uninitialized struct pages for ZONE_DEVICE
If DAX memory is hotplugged into an unoccupied subsection of an early
section, section_activate() reuses the unoptimized boot memmap. However,
compound_nr_pages() still assumes that vmemmap optimization is in effect
and initializes only the reduced number of struct pages. As a result, the
remaining tail struct pages are left uninitialized, which can later lead
to unexpected behavior or crashes.
Fix this by treating early sections as unoptimized when calculating how
many struct pages to initialize. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/ntfs3: prevent potential lcn remains uninitialized
The target VCN being sought was not found within runs[0], causing
run_lookup() to return false. This causes run_lookup_entry() to return
false, which in turn results in a len value of 0, and the new parameter
passed to attr_data_get_block() is NULL. Collectively, these factors
ultimately cause attr_data_get_block_locked() to exit prematurely without
initializing lcn, thereby triggering [1].
To prevent [1], the clen check within ni_seek_data_or_hole() has been
moved to occur before the lcn check.

| Libevent is an event notification library. Prior to 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, libevent has a use-after-free in buffer.c when evbuffer_add_buffer_reference processes an output buffer whose out_total_len is zero. evbuffer_free_all_chains frees the initial empty chain without resetting outbuf->first, outbuf->last, or outbuf->last_with_datap, and APPEND_CHAIN_MULTICAST subsequently dereferences the dangling chain pointer. A caller that can drive this buffer state can cause memory corruption or a process crash. This issue is fixed in versions 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha. |
| libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. In 1.23.0 and earlier, a crafted HEIF sequence accepted by heif_context_read_from_memory() can leave the context with no registered sequence tracks and crash when heif_context_get_track(ctx, 0) is called. HeifContext::get_track() in libheif/context.cc executes assert(has_sequence()) before its normal error handling, so assert-enabled builds abort instead of allowing the public wrapper in libheif/api/libheif/heif_sequences.cc to return null. In release builds, removing the assertion lets the track_id zero path dereference m_tracks.begin()->second on an empty map, which is undefined behavior and typically crashes. The issue is reachable through documented public APIs after parsing attacker-controlled bytes. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.1. |
| Use of uninitialized resource in GPU in Google Chrome prior to 151.0.7922.169 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) |
