CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: stmmac: fix possible memory leak in stmmac_dvr_probe()
The bitmap_free() should be called to free priv->af_xdp_zc_qps
when create_singlethread_workqueue() fails, otherwise there will
be a memory leak, so we add the err path error_wq_init to fix it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/msm: fix workqueue leak on bind errors
Make sure to destroy the workqueue also in case of early errors during
bind (e.g. a subcomponent failing to bind).
Since commit c3b790ea07a1 ("drm: Manage drm_mode_config_init with
drmm_") the mode config will be freed when the drm device is released
also when using the legacy interface, but add an explicit cleanup for
consistency and to facilitate backporting.
Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/525093/ |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
of: overlay: Call of_changeset_init() early
When of_overlay_fdt_apply() fails, the changeset may be partially
applied, and the caller is still expected to call of_overlay_remove() to
clean up this partial state.
However, of_overlay_apply() calls of_resolve_phandles() before
init_overlay_changeset(). Hence if the overlay fails to apply due to an
unresolved symbol, the overlay_changeset.cset.entries list is still
uninitialized, and cleanup will crash with a NULL-pointer dereference in
overlay_removal_is_ok().
Fix this by moving the call to of_changeset_init() from
init_overlay_changeset() to of_overlay_fdt_apply(), where all other
early initialization is done. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ethtool: eeprom: fix null-deref on genl_info in dump
The similar fix as commit 46cdedf2a0fa ("ethtool: pse-pd: fix null-deref on
genl_info in dump") is also needed for ethtool eeprom. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix information leak in f2fs_move_inline_dirents()
When converting an inline directory to a regular one, f2fs is leaking
uninitialized memory to disk because it doesn't initialize the entire
directory block. Fix this by zero-initializing the block.
This bug was introduced by commit 4ec17d688d74 ("f2fs: avoid unneeded
initializing when converting inline dentry"), which didn't consider the
security implications of leaking uninitialized memory to disk.
This was found by running xfstest generic/435 on a KMSAN-enabled kernel. |

Fix this by using register_ftrace_function_nolock in
ftrace_modify_direct_caller. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
comedi: fix divide-by-zero in comedi_buf_munge()
The comedi_buf_munge() function performs a modulo operation
`async->munge_chan %= async->cmd.chanlist_len` without first
checking if chanlist_len is zero. If a user program submits a command with
chanlist_len set to zero, this causes a divide-by-zero error when the device
processes data in the interrupt handler path.
Add a check for zero chanlist_len at the beginning of the
function, similar to the existing checks for !map and
CMDF_RAWDATA flag. When chanlist_len is zero, update
munge_count and return early, indicating the data was
handled without munging.
This prevents potential kernel panics from malformed user commands. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/i915: Fix NULL ptr deref by checking new_crtc_state
intel_atomic_get_new_crtc_state can return NULL, unless crtc state wasn't
obtained previously with intel_atomic_get_crtc_state, so we must check it
for NULLness here, just as in many other places, where we can't guarantee
that intel_atomic_get_crtc_state was called.
We are currently getting NULL ptr deref because of that, so this fix was
confirmed to help.

af_unix: Fix data races around sk->sk_shutdown.
KCSAN found a data race around sk->sk_shutdown where unix_release_sock()
and unix_shutdown() update it under unix_state_lock(), OTOH unix_poll()
and unix_dgram_poll() read it locklessly.
We need to annotate the writes and reads with WRITE_ONCE() and READ_ONCE().

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix issue in verifying allow_ptr_leaks
After we converted the capabilities of our networking-bpf program from
cap_sys_admin to cap_net_admin+cap_bpf, our networking-bpf program
failed to start. Because it failed the bpf verifier, and the error log
is "R3 pointer comparison prohibited".
A simple reproducer as follows,
SEC("cls-ingress")
int ingress(struct __sk_buff *skb)
{
struct iphdr *iph = (void *)(long)skb->data + sizeof(struct ethhdr);
if ((long)(iph + 1) > (long)skb->data_end)
return TC_ACT_STOLEN;
return TC_ACT_OK;
}
Per discussion with Yonghong and Alexei [1], comparison of two packet
pointers is not a pointer leak. This patch fixes it.
Our local kernel is 6.1.y and we expect this fix to be backported to
6.1.y, so stable is CCed.

drivers: mcb: fix resource leak in mcb_probe()

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipu3-imgu: Fix NULL pointer dereference in imgu_subdev_set_selection()
Calling v4l2_subdev_get_try_crop() and v4l2_subdev_get_try_compose()
with a subdev state of NULL leads to a NULL pointer dereference. This
can currently happen in imgu_subdev_set_selection() when the state
passed in is NULL, as this method first gets pointers to both the "try"
and "active" states and only then decides which to use.
The same issue has been addressed for imgu_subdev_get_selection() with
commit 30d03a0de650 ("ipu3-imgu: Fix NULL pointer dereference in active
selection access"). However the issue still persists in
imgu_subdev_set_selection().
Therefore, apply a similar fix as done in the aforementioned commit to
imgu_subdev_set_selection(). To keep things a bit cleaner, introduce
helper functions for "crop" and "compose" access and use them in both
imgu_subdev_set_selection() and imgu_subdev_get_selection(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: s5p-mfc: Clear workbit to handle error condition
During error on CLOSE_INSTANCE command, ctx_work_bits was not getting
cleared. During consequent mfc execution NULL pointer dereferencing of
this context led to kernel panic. This patch fixes this issue by making
sure to clear ctx_work_bits always. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
security: Restrict CONFIG_ZERO_CALL_USED_REGS to gcc or clang > 15.0.6
A bad bug in clang's implementation of -fzero-call-used-regs can result
in NULL pointer dereferences (see the links above the check for more
information). Restrict CONFIG_CC_HAS_ZERO_CALL_USED_REGS to either a
supported GCC version or a clang newer than 15.0.6, which will catch
both a theoretical 15.0.7 and the upcoming 16.0.0, which will both have
the bug fixed. |
