CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nilfs2: fix OOB in nilfs_set_de_type
The size of the nilfs_type_by_mode array in the fs/nilfs2/dir.c file is
defined as "S_IFMT >> S_SHIFT", but the nilfs_set_de_type() function,
which uses this array, specifies the index to read from the array in the
same way as "(mode & S_IFMT) >> S_SHIFT".
static void nilfs_set_de_type(struct nilfs_dir_entry *de, struct inode
*inode)
{
umode_t mode = inode->i_mode;
de->file_type = nilfs_type_by_mode[(mode & S_IFMT)>>S_SHIFT]; // oob
}
However, when the index is determined this way, an out-of-bounds (OOB)
error occurs by referring to an index that is 1 larger than the array size
when the condition "mode & S_IFMT == S_IFMT" is satisfied. Therefore, a
patch to resize the nilfs_type_by_mode array should be applied to prevent
OOB errors. |
| In Django 3.2 before 3.2.20, 4 before 4.1.10, and 4.2 before 4.2.3, EmailValidator and URLValidator are subject to a potential ReDoS (regular expression denial of service) attack via a very large number of domain name labels of emails and URLs. |
| A ReDoS issue was discovered in the URI component through 0.12.0 in Ruby through 3.2.1. The URI parser mishandles invalid URLs that have specific characters. It causes an increase in execution time for parsing strings to URI objects. The fixed versions are 0.12.1, 0.11.1, 0.10.2 and 0.10.0.1. |
| In PHP versions before 7.4.31, 8.0.24 and 8.1.11, the vulnerability enables network and same-site attackers to set a standard insecure cookie in the victim's browser which is treated as a `__Host-` or `__Secure-` cookie by PHP applications. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iommu/mediatek: Fix NULL pointer deference in mtk_iommu_device_group
Currently, mtk_iommu calls during probe iommu_device_register before
the hw_list from driver data is initialized. Since iommu probing issue
fix, it leads to NULL pointer dereference in mtk_iommu_device_group when
hw_list is accessed with list_first_entry (not null safe).
So, change the call order to ensure iommu_device_register is called
after the driver data are initialized. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net_sched: sch_sfq: move the limit validation
It is not sufficient to directly validate the limit on the data that
the user passes as it can be updated based on how the other parameters
are changed.
Move the check at the end of the configuration update process to also
catch scenarios where the limit is indirectly updated, for example
with the following configurations:
tc qdisc add dev dummy0 handle 1: root sfq limit 2 flows 1 depth 1
tc qdisc add dev dummy0 handle 1: root sfq limit 2 flows 1 divisor 1
This fixes the following syzkaller reported crash:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ata: pata_pxa: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in pxa_ata_probe()
devm_ioremap() returns NULL on error. Currently, pxa_ata_probe() does
not check for this case, which can result in a NULL pointer dereference.
Add NULL check after devm_ioremap() to prevent this issue. |
| Due to failure in validating the length provided by an attacker-crafted PPD PostScript document, CUPS and libppd are susceptible to a heap-based buffer overflow and possibly code execution. This issue has been fixed in CUPS version 2.4.7, released in September of 2023. |
| A ReDoS issue was discovered in the Time component through 0.2.1 in Ruby through 3.2.1. The Time parser mishandles invalid URLs that have specific characters. It causes an increase in execution time for parsing strings to Time objects. The fixed versions are 0.1.1 and 0.2.2. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
watch_queue: fix pipe accounting mismatch
Currently, watch_queue_set_size() modifies the pipe buffers charged to
user->pipe_bufs without updating the pipe->nr_accounted on the pipe
itself, due to the if (!pipe_has_watch_queue()) test in
pipe_resize_ring(). This means that when the pipe is ultimately freed,
we decrement user->pipe_bufs by something other than what than we had
charged to it, potentially leading to an underflow. This in turn can
cause subsequent too_many_pipe_buffers_soft() tests to fail with -EPERM.
To remedy this, explicitly account for the pipe usage in
watch_queue_set_size() to match the number set via account_pipe_buffers()
(It's unclear why watch_queue_set_size() does not update nr_accounted;
it may be due to intentional overprovisioning in watch_queue_set_size()?) |
| A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, where unauthorized access to the execution of the setuid file with capabilities was found in the Linux kernel’s OverlayFS subsystem in how a user copies a capable file from a nosuid mount into another mount. This uid mapping bug allows a local user to escalate their privileges on the system. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usb-audio: Fix potential out-of-bound accesses for Extigy and Mbox devices
A bogus device can provide a bNumConfigurations value that exceeds the
initial value used in usb_get_configuration for allocating dev->config.
This can lead to out-of-bounds accesses later, e.g. in
usb_destroy_configuration. |
| The Java OpenWire protocol marshaller is vulnerable to Remote Code
Execution. This vulnerability may allow a remote attacker with network
access to either a Java-based OpenWire broker or client to run arbitrary
shell commands by manipulating serialized class types in the OpenWire
protocol to cause either the client or the broker (respectively) to
instantiate any class on the classpath.
Users are recommended to upgrade
both brokers and clients to version 5.15.16, 5.16.7, 5.17.6, or 5.18.3
which fixes this issue. |
| Sinatra is a domain-specific language for creating web applications in Ruby. An issue was discovered in Sinatra 2.0 before 2.2.3 and 3.0 before 3.0.4. An application is vulnerable to a reflected file download (RFD) attack that sets the Content-Disposition header of a response when the filename is derived from user-supplied input. Version 2.2.3 and 3.0.4 contain patches for this issue. |
| PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C language implementing standard based protocols such as SIP, SDP, RTP, STUN, TURN, and ICE. In versions prior to and including 2.12.1 a stack buffer overflow vulnerability affects PJSIP users that use STUN in their applications, either by: setting a STUN server in their account/media config in PJSUA/PJSUA2 level, or directly using `pjlib-util/stun_simple` API. A patch is available in commit 450baca which should be included in the next release. There are no known workarounds for this issue. |
| Sinatra before 2.2.0 does not validate that the expanded path matches public_dir when serving static files. |
| There is a buffer over-read in Ruby before 2.6.10, 2.7.x before 2.7.6, 3.x before 3.0.4, and 3.1.x before 3.1.2. It occurs in String-to-Float conversion, including Kernel#Float and String#to_f. |
| PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. A buffer overflow vulnerability in versions 2.12 and prior affects applications that use PJSIP DNS resolution. It doesn't affect PJSIP users who utilize an external resolver. This vulnerability is related to CVE-2023-27585. The difference is that this issue is in parsing the query record `parse_rr()`, while the issue in CVE-2023-27585 is in `parse_query()`. A patch is available in the `master` branch of the `pjsip/pjproject` GitHub repository. A workaround is to disable DNS resolution in PJSIP config (by setting `nameserver_count` to zero) or use an external resolver instead. |
| PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C. Versions 2.12 and prior contain a stack buffer overflow vulnerability that affects PJSUA2 users or users that call the API `pjmedia_sdp_print(), pjmedia_sdp_media_print()`. Applications that do not use PJSUA2 and do not directly call `pjmedia_sdp_print()` or `pjmedia_sdp_media_print()` should not be affected. A patch is available on the `master` branch of the `pjsip/pjproject` GitHub repository. There are currently no known workarounds. |
| PJSIP is a free and open source multimedia communication library written in C language. In versions prior to and including 2.12 PJSIP there is a stack-buffer overflow vulnerability which only impacts PJSIP users who accept hashed digest credentials (credentials with data_type `PJSIP_CRED_DATA_DIGEST`). This issue has been patched in the master branch of the PJSIP repository and will be included with the next release. Users unable to upgrade need to check that the hashed digest data length must be equal to `PJSIP_MD5STRLEN` before passing to PJSIP. |
