CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iommufd: Take dma_resv lock before dma_buf_unpin() in release path
dma_buf_unpin() requires the caller to hold the exporter's dma_resv
lock:
void dma_buf_unpin(struct dma_buf_attachment *attach)
{
...
dma_resv_assert_held(dmabuf->resv);
...
}
iopt_release_pages() calls dma_buf_unpin() without taking that lock,
so every iommufd_ioas_destroy()/iommufd_ioas_unmap() that releases
the last reference on a DMABUF-backed iopt_pages triggers a WARN.
This was hit while running tools/testing/selftests/iommu/iommufd:
WARNING: drivers/dma-buf/dma-buf.c:1137 at dma_buf_unpin+0x62/0x70

Take the dma_resv lock around dma_buf_unpin() in iopt_release_pages(),
matching the iopt_map_dmabuf() convention. dma_buf_detach() acquires the
reservation lock internally, so it must remain outside the locked region. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: ims-pcu - fix race condition in reset_device sysfs callback
The ims_pcu_reset_device() sysfs callback calls ims_pcu_execute_command()
without acquiring pcu->cmd_mutex. This can lead to data races and
corruption of the shared command buffer if triggered concurrently with
other commands.
Acquire pcu->cmd_mutex before calling ims_pcu_execute_command(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
misc: fastrpc: take fl->lock when moving mmaps on interrupted invoke
When an invoke is interrupted by a signal,
wait_for_completion_interruptible() returns -ERESTARTSYS and
fastrpc_internal_invoke() moves every buffer from fl->mmaps onto
cctx->invoke_interrupted_mmaps. This list_del()/list_add_tail() walk
runs without holding fl->lock, the lock that serialises fl->mmaps in
fastrpc_req_mmap() and fastrpc_req_munmap() everywhere else.
Take fl->lock around the move, matching every other fl->mmaps accessor. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: vivid: check for vb2_is_busy() when toggling caps
The vivid_update_format_cap/out() functions must only be called if the
capture/output queue are not busy. But for the controls that select
the CROP/COMPOSE/SCALE capability that is not checked.
Only when streaming starts will they be set to 'grabbed' and it is
impossible to change the control, but between REQBUFS and STREAMON you
are still allowed to set these controls. Since vivid_update_format_cap/out
will change the format, this can cause unexpected results.
Besides adding these checks, also add a WARN_ON in
vivid_update_format_cap/out() if the queue is busy.
I'm 90% certain that this is the cause of this syzbot bug:
https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=dac8f5eaa46837e97b89
But since we never have reproducers, it is hard to be certain. In any case,
these checks are needed regardless. |
| JupyterLab (pip package 'jupyterlab') versions >=4.1.0,<=4.5.9 and >=4.6.0,<=4.6.1 contain a plugin manager lock-rule enforcement bypass. Two server-side enforcement gaps allow an authenticated user to circumvent administrator lock rules by making direct requests to the /lab/api/plugins endpoint, enabling or disabling plugins that were locked — including child plugins of multi-plugin extensions and plugins locked via the 'lock all' mechanism. This can impact data integrity and bypass hardening or restrictions (e.g., download/upload limits) implemented through locked plugins. Fixed in versions 4.6.2 and 4.5.10. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: hci_sync: hold hdev->lock for hci_conn_params lookups
hci_conn_params_lookup requires hdev->lock be held, otherwise the list
iteration or param access is not safe.
Hold hdev->lock for params lookups in hci_sync. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
can: raw: add locking for raw flags bitfield
With commit 890e5198a6e5 ("can: raw: use bitfields to store flags in
struct raw_sock") the formerly separate integer values have been integrated
into a single bitfield. This led to a read-modify-write operation when
changing a flag in raw_setsockopt() which now needs a locking to prevent
concurrent access.
Instead of adding a lock/unlock hell in each of the flag manipulations this
patch introduces a wrapper for a new raw_setsockopt_locked() function
analogue to the isotp_setsockopt[_locked]() approach in net/can/isotp.c

smb: client: protect tc_count increment in smb2_find_smb_sess_tcon_unlocked()
Commit 96c4af418586 ("cifs: Fix locking usage for tcon fields")
refactored cifs code to change cifs_tcp_ses_lock for tc_lock around
tc_count changes.
There was missing lock around tc_count increment inside
smb2_find_smb_sess_tcon_unlocked(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: airoha: Fix potential use-after-free in airoha_ppe_deinit()
airoha_ppe_deinit() replaces the NPU pointer with NULL via
rcu_replace_pointer() but does not wait for existing RCU readers
to exit before calling ppe_deinit() and airoha_npu_put(). This can
cause a use-after-free if a reader in an RCU read-side critical
section still holds a reference to the NPU when it is freed.
The init path (airoha_ppe_init) already calls synchronize_rcu()
after rcu_assign_pointer(), but the deinit path introduced in
commit 6abcf751bc08 ("net: airoha: Fix schedule while atomic in
airoha_ppe_deinit()") omitted the matching barrier when switching
from rcu_read_lock()/rcu_dereference() to rcu_replace_pointer().
Add synchronize_rcu() before ppe_deinit() to ensure all existing
RCU readers have completed before the NPU resources are released. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: mcast: fix data-race in ipv6_mc_down / mld_ifc_work
idev->mc_ifc_count can be written over without proper locking.
Originally found by syzbot [1], fix this issue by encapsulating calls
to mld_ifc_stop_work() (and mld_gq_stop_work() for good measure) with
mutex_lock() and mutex_unlock() accordingly as these functions
should only be called with mc_lock per their declarations.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mptcp: fix sk_forward_memory corruption on retransmission
MPTCP sk_forward_memory handling is a bit special, as such field
is protected by the msk socket spin_lock, instead of the plain
socket lock.
Currently we have a code path updating such field without handling
the relevant lock:
__mptcp_retrans() -> __mptcp_clean_una_wakeup()
Several helpers in __mptcp_clean_una_wakeup() will update
sk_forward_alloc, possibly causing such field corruption, as reported
by Matthieu.
Address the issue providing and using a new variant of blamed function
which explicitly acquires the msk spin lock. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: use RCU protection in ip6_default_advmss()
ip6_default_advmss() needs rcu protection to make
sure the net structure it reads does not disappear. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/vmalloc: take vmap_purge_lock in shrinker
decay_va_pool_node() can be invoked concurrently from two paths:
__purge_vmap_area_lazy() when pools are being purged, and the shrinker via
vmap_node_shrink_scan().
However, decay_va_pool_node() is not safe to run concurrently, and the
shrinker path currently lacks serialization, leading to races and possible
leaks.
Protect decay_va_pool_node() by taking vmap_purge_lock in the shrinker
path to ensure serialization with purge users. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: l2cap: Add missing chan lock in l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp
l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp() calls l2cap_chan_del() without holding
l2cap_chan_lock(). Every other l2cap_chan_del() caller in the file
acquires the lock first. A remote BLE device can send a crafted
L2CAP ECRED reconfiguration response to corrupt the channel list
while another thread is iterating it.
Add l2cap_chan_hold() and l2cap_chan_lock() before l2cap_chan_del(),
and l2cap_chan_unlock() and l2cap_chan_put() after, matching the
pattern used in l2cap_ecred_conn_rsp() and l2cap_conn_del(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm cache policy smq: fix missing locks in invalidating cache blocks
In passthrough mode, the policy invalidate_mapping operation is called
simultaneously from multiple workers, thus it should be protected by a
lock. Otherwise, we might end up with data races on the allocated blocks
counter, or even use-after-free issues with internal data structures
when doing concurrent writes.
Note that the existing FIXME in smq_invalidate_mapping() doesn't affect
passthrough mode since migration tasks don't exist there, but would need
attention if supporting fast device shrinking via suspend/resume without
target reloading.
Reproduce steps:
1. Create a cache device consisting of 1024 cache entries
dmsetup create cmeta --table "0 8192 linear /dev/sdc 0"
dmsetup create cdata --table "0 131072 linear /dev/sdc 8192"
dmsetup create corig --table "0 262144 linear /dev/sdc 262144"
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mapper/cmeta bs=4k count=1 oflag=direct
dmsetup create cache --table "0 262144 cache /dev/mapper/cmeta \
/dev/mapper/cdata /dev/mapper/corig 128 2 metadata2 writethrough smq 0"
2. Populate the cache, and record the number of cached blocks
fio --name=populate --filename=/dev/mapper/cache --rw=randwrite --bs=4k \
--size=64m --direct=1
nr_cached=$(dmsetup status cache | awk '{split($7, a, "/"); print a[1]}')
3. Reload the cache into passthrough mode
dmsetup suspend cache
dmsetup reload cache --table "0 262144 cache /dev/mapper/cmeta \
/dev/mapper/cdata /dev/mapper/corig 128 2 metadata2 passthrough smq 0"
dmsetup resume cache
4. Write to the passthrough cache. By setting multiple jobs with I/O
size equal to the cache block size, cache blocks are invalidated
concurrently from different workers.
fio --filename=/dev/mapper/cache --name=test --rw=randwrite --bs=64k \
--direct=1 --numjobs=2 --randrepeat=0 --size=64m
5. Check if demoted matches cached block count. These numbers should
match but may differ due to the data race.
nr_demoted=$(dmsetup status cache | awk '{print $12}')
echo "$nr_cached, $nr_demoted" |

gfs2: add some missing log locking
Function gfs2_logd() calls the log flushing functions gfs2_ail1_start(),
gfs2_ail1_wait(), and gfs2_ail1_empty() without holding sdp->sd_log_flush_lock,
but these functions require exclusion against concurrent transactions.
To fix that, add a non-locking __gfs2_log_flush() function. Then, in
gfs2_logd(), take sdp->sd_log_flush_lock before calling the above mentioned log
flushing functions and __gfs2_log_flush(). |

um: Fix potential race condition in TLB sync
During the TLB sync, we need to traverse and modify the page table,
so we should hold the page table lock. Since full SMP support for
threads within the same process is still missing, let's disable the
split page table lock for simplicity. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/v3d: Fix global performance monitor reference counting
In the SET_GLOBAL ioctl, v3d_perfmon_find() bumps the reference count on
the perfmon it returns, but v3d_perfmon_set_global_ioctl() and
v3d_perfmon_delete() fail to release that reference on several paths:
1. v3d_perfmon_set_global_ioctl() leaks the reference on its error
paths.
2. CLEAR_GLOBAL leaks both the find reference and the reference
previously stashed in v3d->global_perfmon by the SET_GLOBAL ioctl
that configured it.
3. Destroying a perfmon that is the current global perfmon leaks the
reference stashed by the SET_GLOBAL ioctl.
Release each of these references explicitly. |
| concurrent-ruby is a modern concurrency tools for Ruby. Prior to 1.3.7, Concurrent::ReadWriteLock#release_write_lock does not verify that the calling thread acquired the write lock. Any thread with access to the lock object can release an active write lock held by another thread. A second writer can then enter its critical section while the first writer is still running. Concurrent::ReadWriteLock#release_read_lock also decrements the shared counter even when no read lock is held. Calling it on a fresh lock changes the counter from 0 to -1, after which normal read acquisition raises Concurrent::ResourceLimitError. This is a synchronization correctness issue in the public Concurrent::ReadWriteLock API. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.3.7. |
