In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix bug_on in __es_tree_search caused by bad quota inode We got a issue as fllows: ================================================================== kernel BUG at fs/ext4/extents_status.c:202! invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP CPU: 1 PID: 810 Comm: mount Not tainted 6.1.0-rc1-next-g9631525255e3 #352 RIP: 0010:__es_tree_search.isra.0+0xb8/0xe0 RSP: 0018:ffffc90001227900 EFLAGS: 00010202 RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: 0000000077512a0f RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 0000000000000002 RSI: 0000000000002a10 RDI: ffff8881004cd0c8 RBP: ffff888177512ac8 R08: 47ffffffffffffff R09: 0000000000000001 R10: 0000000000000001 R11: 00000000000679af R12: 0000000000002a10 R13: ffff888177512d88 R14: 0000000077512a10 R15: 0000000000000000 FS: 00007f4bd76dbc40(0000)GS:ffff88842fd00000(0000)knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 00005653bf993cf8 CR3: 000000017bfdf000 CR4: 00000000000006e0 DR0: 0000000000000000 DR1: 0000000000000000 DR2: 0000000000000000 DR3: 0000000000000000 DR6: 00000000fffe0ff0 DR7: 0000000000000400 Call Trace: <TASK> ext4_es_cache_extent+0xe2/0x210 ext4_cache_extents+0xd2/0x110 ext4_find_extent+0x5d5/0x8c0 ext4_ext_map_blocks+0x9c/0x1d30 ext4_map_blocks+0x431/0xa50 ext4_getblk+0x82/0x340 ext4_bread+0x14/0x110 ext4_quota_read+0xf0/0x180 v2_read_header+0x24/0x90 v2_check_quota_file+0x2f/0xa0 dquot_load_quota_sb+0x26c/0x760 dquot_load_quota_inode+0xa5/0x190 ext4_enable_quotas+0x14c/0x300 __ext4_fill_super+0x31cc/0x32c0 ext4_fill_super+0x115/0x2d0 get_tree_bdev+0x1d2/0x360 ext4_get_tree+0x19/0x30 vfs_get_tree+0x26/0xe0 path_mount+0x81d/0xfc0 do_mount+0x8d/0xc0 __x64_sys_mount+0xc0/0x160 do_syscall_64+0x35/0x80 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd </TASK> ================================================================== Above issue may happen as follows: ------------------------------------- ext4_fill_super ext4_orphan_cleanup ext4_enable_quotas ext4_quota_enable ext4_iget --> get error inode <5> ext4_ext_check_inode --> Wrong imode makes it escape inspection make_bad_inode(inode) --> EXT4_BOOT_LOADER_INO set imode dquot_load_quota_inode vfs_setup_quota_inode --> check pass dquot_load_quota_sb v2_check_quota_file v2_read_header ext4_quota_read ext4_bread ext4_getblk ext4_map_blocks ext4_ext_map_blocks ext4_find_extent ext4_cache_extents ext4_es_cache_extent __es_tree_search.isra.0 ext4_es_end --> Wrong extents trigger BUG_ON In the above issue, s_usr_quota_inum is set to 5, but inode<5> contains incorrect imode and disordered extents. Because 5 is EXT4_BOOT_LOADER_INO, the ext4_ext_check_inode check in the ext4_iget function can be bypassed, finally, the extents that are not checked trigger the BUG_ON in the __es_tree_search function. To solve this issue, check whether the inode is bad_inode in vfs_setup_quota_inode().
CVE-2025-40148 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Add NULL pointer checks in dc_stream cursor attribute functions The function dc_stream_set_cursor_attributes() currently dereferences the `stream` pointer and nested members `stream->ctx->dc->current_state` without checking for NULL. All callers of these functions, such as in `dcn30_apply_idle_power_optimizations()` and `amdgpu_dm_plane_handle_cursor_update()`, already perform NULL checks before calling these functions. Fixes below: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/core/dc_stream.c:336 dc_stream_program_cursor_attributes() error: we previously assumed 'stream' could be null (see line 334) drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/core/dc_stream.c 327 bool dc_stream_program_cursor_attributes( 328 struct dc_stream_state *stream, 329 const struct dc_cursor_attributes *attributes) 330 { 331 struct dc *dc; 332 bool reset_idle_optimizations = false; 333 334 dc = stream ? stream->ctx->dc : NULL; ^^^^^^ The old code assumed stream could be NULL. 335 --> 336 if (dc_stream_set_cursor_attributes(stream, attributes)) { ^^^^^^ The refactor added an unchecked dereference. drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/core/dc_stream.c 313 bool dc_stream_set_cursor_attributes( 314 struct dc_stream_state *stream, 315 const struct dc_cursor_attributes *attributes) 316 { 317 bool result = false; 318 319 if (dc_stream_check_cursor_attributes(stream, stream->ctx->dc->current_state, attributes)) { ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Here. This function used to check for if stream as NULL and return false at the start. Probably we should add that back.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: amd/sdw_utils: avoid NULL deref when devm_kasprintf() fails devm_kasprintf() may return NULL on memory allocation failure, but the debug message prints cpus->dai_name before checking it. Move the dev_dbg() call after the NULL check to prevent potential NULL pointer dereference.
CVE-2025-68215 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: fix PTP cleanup on driver removal in error path Improve the cleanup on releasing PTP resources in error path. The error case might happen either at the driver probe and PTP feature initialization or on PTP restart (errors in reset handling, NVM update etc). In both cases, calls to PF PTP cleanup (ice_ptp_cleanup_pf function) and 'ps_lock' mutex deinitialization were missed. Additionally, ptp clock was not unregistered in the latter case. Keep PTP state as 'uninitialized' on init to distinguish between error scenarios and to avoid resource release duplication at driver removal. The consequence of missing ice_ptp_cleanup_pf call is the following call trace dumped when ice_adapter object is freed (port list is not empty, as it is required at this stage): [ T93022] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ T93022] WARNING: CPU: 10 PID: 93022 at ice/ice_adapter.c:67 ice_adapter_put+0xef/0x100 [ice] ... CVE-2022-50654 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix panic due to wrong pageattr of im->image In the scenario where livepatch and kretfunc coexist, the pageattr of im->image is rox after arch_prepare_bpf_trampoline in bpf_trampoline_update, and then modify_fentry or register_fentry returns -EAGAIN from bpf_tramp_ftrace_ops_func, the BPF_TRAMP_F_ORIG_STACK flag will be configured, and arch_prepare_bpf_trampoline will be re-executed. CVE-2025-40341 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: futex: Don't leak robust_list pointer on exec race sys_get_robust_list() and compat_get_robust_list() use ptrace_may_access() to check if the calling task is allowed to access another task's robust_list pointer. This check is racy against a concurrent exec() in the target process. During exec(), a task may transition from a non-privileged binary to a privileged one (e.g., setuid binary) and its credentials/memory mappings may change. If get_robust_list() performs ptrace_may_access() before this transition, it may erroneously allow access to sensitive information after the target becomes privileged. A racy access allows an attacker to exploit a window during which ptrace_may_access() passes before a target process transitions to a privileged state via exec(). For example, consider a non-privileged task T that is about to execute a setuid-root binary. An attacker task A calls get_robust_list(T) while T is still unprivileged. Since ptrace_may_access() checks permissions based on current credentials, it succeeds. However, if T begins exec immediately afterwards, it becomes privileged and may change its memory mappings. Because get_robust_list() proceeds to access T->robust_list without synchronizing with exec() it may read user-space pointers from a now-privileged process. This violates the intended post-exec access restrictions and could expose sensitive memory addresses or be used as a primitive in a larger exploit chain. Consequently, the race can lead to unauthorized disclosure of information across privilege boundaries and poses a potential security risk. Take a read lock on signal->exec_update_lock prior to invoking ptrace_may_access() and accessing the robust_list/compat_robust_list. This ensures that the target task's exec state remains stable during the check, allowing for consistent and synchronized validation of credentials.
CVE-2022-50826 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipu3-imgu: Fix NULL pointer dereference in imgu_subdev_set_selection() Calling v4l2_subdev_get_try_crop() and v4l2_subdev_get_try_compose() with a subdev state of NULL leads to a NULL pointer dereference. This can currently happen in imgu_subdev_set_selection() when the state passed in is NULL, as this method first gets pointers to both the "try" and "active" states and only then decides which to use. The same issue has been addressed for imgu_subdev_get_selection() with commit 30d03a0de650 ("ipu3-imgu: Fix NULL pointer dereference in active selection access"). However the issue still persists in imgu_subdev_set_selection(). Therefore, apply a similar fix as done in the aforementioned commit to imgu_subdev_set_selection(). To keep things a bit cleaner, introduce helper functions for "crop" and "compose" access and use them in both imgu_subdev_set_selection() and imgu_subdev_get_selection().
CVE-2022-50838 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stream: purge sk_error_queue in sk_stream_kill_queues() Changheon Lee reported TCP socket leaks, with a nice repro. It seems we leak TCP sockets with the following sequence: 1) SOF_TIMESTAMPING_TX_ACK is enabled on the socket. Each ACK will cook an skb put in error queue, from __skb_tstamp_tx(). __skb_tstamp_tx() is using skb_clone(), unless SOF_TIMESTAMPING_OPT_TSONLY was also requested. 2) If the application is also using MSG_ZEROCOPY, then we put in the error queue cloned skbs that had a struct ubuf_info attached to them. Whenever an struct ubuf_info is allocated, sock_zerocopy_alloc() does a sock_hold(). As long as the cloned skbs are still in sk_error_queue, socket refcount is kept elevated. 3) Application closes the socket, while error queue is not empty. Since tcp_close() no longer purges the socket error queue, we might end up with a TCP socket with at least one skb in error queue keeping the socket alive forever. This bug can be (ab)used to consume all kernel memory and freeze the host. We need to purge the error queue, with proper synchronization against concurrent writers.
CVE-2022-50844 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Fix type of second parameter in odn_edit_dpm_table() callback With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. A proposed warning in clang aims to catch these at compile time, which reveals: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../pm/swsmu/amdgpu_smu.c:3008:29: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'int (*)(void *, uint32_t, long *, uint32_t)' (aka 'int (*)(void *, unsigned int, long *, unsigned int)') with an expression of type 'int (void *, enum PP_OD_DPM_TABLE_COMMAND, long *, uint32_t)' (aka 'int (void *, enum PP_OD_DPM_TABLE_COMMAND, long *, unsigned int)') [-Werror,-Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict] .odn_edit_dpm_table = smu_od_edit_dpm_table, ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1 error generated. There are only two implementations of ->odn_edit_dpm_table() in 'struct amd_pm_funcs': smu_od_edit_dpm_table() and pp_odn_edit_dpm_table(). One has a second parameter type of 'enum PP_OD_DPM_TABLE_COMMAND' and the other uses 'u32'. Ultimately, smu_od_edit_dpm_table() calls ->od_edit_dpm_table() from 'struct pptable_funcs' and pp_odn_edit_dpm_table() calls ->odn_edit_dpm_table() from 'struct pp_hwmgr_func', which both have a second parameter type of 'enum PP_OD_DPM_TABLE_COMMAND'. Update the type parameter in both the prototype in 'struct amd_pm_funcs' and pp_odn_edit_dpm_table() to 'enum PP_OD_DPM_TABLE_COMMAND', which cleans up the warning.

CVE-2023-54181 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix issue in verifying allow_ptr_leaks After we converted the capabilities of our networking-bpf program from cap_sys_admin to cap_net_admin+cap_bpf, our networking-bpf program failed to start. Because it failed the bpf verifier, and the error log is "R3 pointer comparison prohibited". A simple reproducer as follows, SEC("cls-ingress") int ingress(struct __sk_buff *skb) { struct iphdr *iph = (void *)(long)skb->data + sizeof(struct ethhdr); if ((long)(iph + 1) > (long)skb->data_end) return TC_ACT_STOLEN; return TC_ACT_OK; } Per discussion with Yonghong and Alexei [1], comparison of two packet pointers is not a pointer leak. This patch fixes it. Our local kernel is 6.1.y and we expect this fix to be backported to 6.1.y, so stable is CCed. CVE-2023-54217 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Revert "drm/msm: Add missing check and destroy for alloc_ordered_workqueue" This reverts commit 643b7d0869cc7f1f7a5ac7ca6bd25d88f54e31d0. A recent patch that tried to fix up the msm_drm_init() paths with respect to the workqueue but only ended up making things worse: First, the newly added calls to msm_drm_uninit() on early errors would trigger NULL-pointer dereferences, for example, as the kms pointer would not have been initialised. (Note that these paths were also modified by a second broken error handling patch which in effect cancelled out this part when merged.) Second, the newly added allocation sanity check would still leak the previously allocated drm device. Instead of trying to salvage what was badly broken (and clearly not tested), let's revert the bad commit so that clean and backportable fixes can be added in its place. CVE-2023-54232 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-15 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: m68k: Only force 030 bus error if PC not in exception table __get_kernel_nofault() does copy data in supervisor mode when forcing a task backtrace log through /proc/sysrq_trigger. This is expected cause a bus error exception on e.g. NULL pointer dereferencing when logging a kernel task has no workqueue associated. This bus error ought to be ignored. Our 030 bus error handler is ill equipped to deal with this: Whenever ssw indicates a kernel mode access on a data fault, we don't even attempt to handle the fault and instead always send a SEGV signal (or panic). As a result, the check for exception handling at the fault PC (buried in send_sig_fault() which gets called from do_page_fault() eventually) is never used. In contrast, both 040 and 060 access error handlers do not care whether a fault happened on supervisor mode access, and will call do_page_fault() on those, ultimately honoring the exception table. Add a check in bus_error030 to call do_page_fault() in case we do have an entry for the fault PC in our exception table. I had attempted a fix for this earlier in 2019 that did rely on testing pagefault_disabled() (see link below) to achieve the same thing, but this patch should be more generic. Tested on 030 Atari Falcon.

So there is no correctness issue here, we just want to silence warning. To silence the warning, I added DECL_TAG as one of kinds in btf_type_nosize() which will cause btf_type_id_size() returning NULL earlier without the warning.
