| CVE-2022-50849 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pstore: Avoid kcore oops by vmap()ing with VM_IOREMAP An oops can be induced by running 'cat /proc/kcore > /dev/null' on devices using pstore with the ram backend because kmap_atomic() assumes lowmem pages are accessible with __va(). Pstore's ram backend reuses those reserved pages to change the memory type (writeback or non-cached) by passing the pages to vmap() (see pfn_to_page() usage in persistent_ram_vmap() for more details) with specific flags. When read_kcore() starts iterating over the vmalloc region, it runs over the virtual address that vmap() returned for ramoops. In aligned_vread() the virtual address is passed to vmalloc_to_page() which returns the page struct for the reserved lowmem area. That lowmem page is passed to kmap_atomic(), which effectively calls page_to_virt() that assumes a lowmem page struct must be directly accessible with __va() and friends. These pages are mapped via vmap() though, and the lowmem mapping was never made, so accessing them via the lowmem virtual address oopses like above. Let's side-step this problem by passing VM_IOREMAP to vmap(). This will tell vread() to not include the ramoops region in the kcore. Instead the area will look like a bunch of zeros. The alternative is to teach kmap() about vmalloc areas that intersect with lowmem. Presumably such a change isn't a one-liner, and there isn't much interest in inspecting the ramoops region in kcore files anyway, so the most expedient route is taken for now. | ||||
| CVE-2022-50616 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: core: Use different devices for resource allocation and DT lookup Following by the below discussion, there's the potential UAF issue between regulator and mfd. https://lore.kernel.org/all/20221128143601.1698148-1-yangyingliang@huawei.com/ From the analysis of Yingliang CPU A |CPU B mt6370_probe() | devm_mfd_add_devices() | |mt6370_regulator_probe() | regulator_register() | //allocate init_data and add it to devres | regulator_of_get_init_data() i2c_unregister_device() | device_del() | devres_release_all() | // init_data is freed | release_nodes() | | // using init_data causes UAF | regulator_register() It's common to use mfd core to create child device for the regulator. In order to do the DT lookup for init data, the child that registered the regulator would pass its parent as the parameter. And this causes init data resource allocated to its parent, not itself. The issue happen when parent device is going to release and regulator core is still doing some operation of init data constraint for the regulator of child device. To fix it, this patch expand 'regulator_register' API to use the different devices for init data allocation and DT lookup. | ||||
| CVE-2023-53746 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/vfio-ap: fix memory leak in vfio_ap device driver The device release callback function invoked to release the matrix device uses the dev_get_drvdata(device *dev) function to retrieve the pointer to the vfio_matrix_dev object in order to free its storage. The problem is, this object is not stored as drvdata with the device; since the kfree function will accept a NULL pointer, the memory for the vfio_matrix_dev object is never freed. Since the device being released is contained within the vfio_matrix_dev object, the container_of macro will be used to retrieve its pointer. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/bridge: it6505: Initialize AUX channel in it6505_i2c_probe During device boot, the HPD interrupt could be triggered before the DRM subsystem registers it6505 as a DRM bridge. In such cases, the driver tries to access AUX channel and causes NULL pointer dereference. Initializing the AUX channel earlier to prevent such error. | ||||

| CVE-2025-40085 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-15 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb-audio: Fix NULL pointer deference in try_to_register_card In try_to_register_card(), the return value of usb_ifnum_to_if() is passed directly to usb_interface_claimed() without a NULL check, which will lead to a NULL pointer dereference when creating an invalid USB audio device. Fix this by adding a check to ensure the interface pointer is valid before passing it to usb_interface_claimed(). | ||||

CPU0 executes (1) assigning tp_event->perf_events = list 2. CPU0 executes (2) enabling kprobe functionality via class->reg() 3. CPU1 triggers and reaches kprobe_dispatcher 4. CPU1 checks TP_FLAG_PROFILE - condition passes (step 2 completed) 5. CPU1 calls kprobe_perf_func() and crashes at (3) because call->perf_events is still NULL CPU1 sees that kprobe functionality is enabled but does not see that perf_events has been assigned.
