| CVE-2022-48948 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-05-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: uvc: Prevent buffer overflow in setup handler Setup function uvc_function_setup permits control transfer requests with up to 64 bytes of payload (UVC_MAX_REQUEST_SIZE), data stage handler for OUT transfer uses memcpy to copy req->actual bytes to uvc_event->data.data array of size 60. This may result in an overflow of 4 bytes. | ||||
| CVE-2022-48929 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus | 2025-05-04 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix crash due to out of bounds access into reg2btf_ids. When commit e6ac2450d6de ("bpf: Support bpf program calling kernel function") added kfunc support, it defined reg2btf_ids as a cheap way to translate the verifier reg type to the appropriate btf_vmlinux BTF ID, however commit c25b2ae13603 ("bpf: Replace PTR_TO_XXX_OR_NULL with PTR_TO_XXX | PTR_MAYBE_NULL") moved the __BPF_REG_TYPE_MAX from the last member of bpf_reg_type enum to after the base register types, and defined other variants using type flag composition. However, now, the direct usage of reg->type to index into reg2btf_ids may no longer fall into __BPF_REG_TYPE_MAX range, and hence lead to out of bounds access and kernel crash on dereference of bad pointer. | ||||
| CVE-2022-48927 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-05-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: tsc2046: fix memory corruption by preventing array overflow On one side we have indio_dev->num_channels includes all physical channels + timestamp channel. On other side we have an array allocated only for physical channels. So, fix memory corruption by ARRAY_SIZE() instead of num_channels variable. Note the first case is a cleanup rather than a fix as the software timestamp channel bit in active_scanmask is never set by the IIO core. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: Intel: sof-nau8825: fix module alias overflow The maximum name length for a platform_device_id entry is 20 characters including the trailing NUL byte. The sof_nau8825.c file exceeds that, which causes an obscure error message: sound/soc/intel/boards/snd-soc-sof_nau8825.mod.c:35:45: error: illegal character encoding in string literal [-Werror,-Winvalid-source-encoding] MODULE_ALIAS("platform:adl_max98373_nau8825<U+0018><AA>"); ^~~~ include/linux/module.h:168:49: note: expanded from macro 'MODULE_ALIAS' ^~~~~~ include/linux/module.h:165:56: note: expanded from macro 'MODULE_INFO' ^~~~ include/linux/moduleparam.h:26:47: note: expanded from macro '__MODULE_INFO' = __MODULE_INFO_PREFIX __stringify(tag) "=" info I could not figure out how to make the module handling robust enough to handle this better, but as a quick fix, using slightly shorter names that are still unique avoids the build issue. | ||||
| CVE-2022-48866 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2025-05-04 | 7.1 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: hid-thrustmaster: fix OOB read in thrustmaster_interrupts Syzbot reported an slab-out-of-bounds Read in thrustmaster_probe() bug. The root case is in missing validation check of actual number of endpoints. Code should not blindly access usb_host_interface::endpoint array, since it may contain less endpoints than code expects. Fix it by adding missing validaion check and print an error if number of endpoints do not match expected number | ||||
| CVE-2022-48847 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-05-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: watch_queue: Fix filter limit check In watch_queue_set_filter(), there are a couple of places where we check that the filter type value does not exceed what the type_filter bitmap can hold. One place calculates the number of bits by: if (tf[i].type >= sizeof(wfilter->type_filter) * 8) which is fine, but the second does: if (tf[i].type >= sizeof(wfilter->type_filter) * BITS_PER_LONG) which is not. This can lead to a couple of out-of-bounds writes due to a too-large type: (1) __set_bit() on wfilter->type_filter (2) Writing more elements in wfilter->filters[] than we allocated. Fix this by just using the proper WATCH_TYPE__NR instead, which is the number of types we actually know about. The bug may cause an oops looking something like: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in watch_queue_set_filter+0x659/0x740 Write of size 4 at addr ffff88800d2c66bc by task watch_queue_oob/611 ... | CVE-2022-48805 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-05-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: usb: ax88179_178a: Fix out-of-bounds accesses in RX fixup ax88179_rx_fixup() contains several out-of-bounds accesses that can be triggered by a malicious (or defective) USB device, in particular: - The metadata array (hdr_off..hdr_off+2*pkt_cnt) can be out of bounds, causing OOB reads and (on big-endian systems) OOB endianness flips. - A packet can overlap the metadata array, causing a later OOB endianness flip to corrupt data used by a cloned SKB that has already been handed off into the network stack. - A packet SKB can be constructed whose tail is far beyond its end, causing out-of-bounds heap data to be considered part of the SKB's data. I have tested that this can be used by a malicious USB device to send a bogus ICMPv6 Echo Request and receive an ICMPv6 Echo Reply in response that contains random kernel heap data. It's probably also possible to get OOB writes from this on a little-endian system somehow - maybe by triggering skb_cow() via IP options processing -, but I haven't tested that. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/nouveau: fix off by one in BIOS boundary checking Bounds checking when parsing init scripts embedded in the BIOS reject access to the last byte. This causes driver initialization to fail on Apple eMac's with GeForce 2 MX GPUs, leaving the system with no working console. This is probably only seen on OpenFirmware machines like PowerPC Macs because the BIOS image provided by OF is only the used parts of the ROM, not a power-of-two blocks read from PCI directly so PCs always have empty bytes at the end that are never accessed. | ||||
| CVE-2022-48687 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 4 Linux Kernel, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 1 more | 2025-05-04 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: sr: fix out-of-bounds read when setting HMAC data. The SRv6 layer allows defining HMAC data that can later be used to sign IPv6 Segment Routing Headers. This configuration is realised via netlink through four attributes: SEG6_ATTR_HMACKEYID, SEG6_ATTR_SECRET, SEG6_ATTR_SECRETLEN and SEG6_ATTR_ALGID. Because the SECRETLEN attribute is decoupled from the actual length of the SECRET attribute, it is possible to provide invalid combinations (e.g., secret = "", secretlen = 64). This case is not checked in the code and with an appropriately crafted netlink message, an out-of-bounds read of up to 64 bytes (max secret length) can occur past the skb end pointer and into skb_shared_info: Breakpoint 1, seg6_genl_sethmac (skb=<optimized out>, info=<optimized out>) at net/ipv6/seg6.c:208 208 memcpy(hinfo->secret, secret, slen); (gdb) bt #0 seg6_genl_sethmac (skb=<optimized out>, info=<optimized out>) at net/ipv6/seg6.c:208 #1 0xffffffff81e012e9 in genl_family_rcv_msg_doit (skb=skb@entry=0xffff88800b1f9f00, nlh=nlh@entry=0xffff88800b1b7600, extack=extack@entry=0xffffc90000ba7af0, ops=ops@entry=0xffffc90000ba7a80, hdrlen=4, net=0xffffffff84237580 <init_net>, family=<optimized out>, family=<optimized out>) at net/netlink/genetlink.c:731 #2 0xffffffff81e01435 in genl_family_rcv_msg (extack=0xffffc90000ba7af0, nlh=0xffff88800b1b7600, skb=0xffff88800b1f9f00, family=0xffffffff82fef6c0 <seg6_genl_family>) at net/netlink/genetlink.c:775 #3 genl_rcv_msg (skb=0xffff88800b1f9f00, nlh=0xffff88800b1b7600, extack=0xffffc90000ba7af0) at net/netlink/genetlink.c:792 #4 0xffffffff81dfffc3 in netlink_rcv_skb (skb=skb@entry=0xffff88800b1f9f00, cb=cb@entry=0xffffffff81e01350 <genl_rcv_msg>) at net/netlink/af_netlink.c:2501 #5 0xffffffff81e00919 in genl_rcv (skb=0xffff88800b1f9f00) at net/netlink/genetlink.c:803 #6 0xffffffff81dff6ae in netlink_unicast_kernel (ssk=0xffff888010eec800, skb=0xffff88800b1f9f00, sk=0xffff888004aed000) at net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1319 #7 netlink_unicast (ssk=ssk@entry=0xffff888010eec800, skb=skb@entry=0xffff88800b1f9f00, portid=portid@entry=0, nonblock=<optimized out>) at net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1345 #8 0xffffffff81dff9a4 in netlink_sendmsg (sock=<optimized out>, msg=0xffffc90000ba7e48, len=<optimized out>) at net/netlink/af_netlink.c:1921 ... | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915/gem: Really move i915_gem_context.link under ref protection i915_perf assumes that it can use the i915_gem_context reference to protect its i915->gem.contexts.list iteration. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvlan: Fix out-of-bound bugs caused by unset skb->mac_header If an AF_PACKET socket is used to send packets through ipvlan and the default xmit function of the AF_PACKET socket is changed from dev_queue_xmit() to packet_direct_xmit() via setsockopt() with the option name of PACKET_QDISC_BYPASS, the skb->mac_header may not be reset and remains as the initial value of 65535, this may trigger slab-out-of-bounds bugs as following: ================================================================= UG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ipvlan_xmit_mode_l2+0xdb/0x330 [ipvlan] PU: 2 PID: 1768 Comm: raw_send Kdump: loaded Not tainted 6.0.0-rc4+ #6 ardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.14.0-1.fc33 all Trace: print_address_description.constprop.0+0x1d/0x160 print_report.cold+0x4f/0x112 kasan_report+0xa3/0x130 ipvlan_xmit_mode_l2+0xdb/0x330 [ipvlan] ipvlan_start_xmit+0x29/0xa0 [ipvlan] __dev_direct_xmit+0x2e2/0x380 packet_direct_xmit+0x22/0x60 packet_snd+0x7c9/0xc40 sock_sendmsg+0x9a/0xa0 __sys_sendto+0x18a/0x230 __x64_sys_sendto+0x74/0x90 do_syscall_64+0x3b/0x90 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd The root cause is: 1. packet_snd() only reset skb->mac_header when sock->type is SOCK_RAW and skb->protocol is not specified as in packet_parse_headers() 2. packet_direct_xmit() doesn't reset skb->mac_header as dev_queue_xmit() In this case, skb->mac_header is 65535 when ipvlan_xmit_mode_l2() is called. So when ipvlan_xmit_mode_l2() gets mac header with eth_hdr() which use "skb->head + skb->mac_header", out-of-bound access occurs. This patch replaces eth_hdr() with skb_eth_hdr() in ipvlan_xmit_mode_l2() and reset mac header in multicast to solve this out-of-bound bug. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vt: fix memory overlapping when deleting chars in the buffer A memory overlapping copy occurs when deleting a long line. This memory overlapping copy can cause data corruption when scr_memcpyw is optimized to memcpy because memcpy does not ensure its behavior if the destination buffer overlaps with the source buffer. The line buffer is not always broken, because the memcpy utilizes the hardware acceleration, whose result is not deterministic. Fix this problem by using replacing the scr_memcpyw with scr_memmovew. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hns3: fix out-of-bounds access may occur when coalesce info is read via debugfs The hns3 driver define an array of string to show the coalesce info, but if the kernel adds a new mode or a new state, out-of-bounds access may occur when coalesce info is read via debugfs, this patch fix the problem. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal: intel: powerclamp: fix mismatch in get function for max_idle KASAN reported this [ 444.853098] BUG: KASAN: global-out-of-bounds in param_get_int+0x77/0x90 [ 444.853111] Read of size 4 at addr ffffffffc16c9220 by task cat/2105 ... [ 444.853442] The buggy address belongs to the variable: [ 444.853443] max_idle+0x0/0xffffffffffffcde0 [intel_powerclamp] There is a mismatch between the param_get_int and the definition of max_idle. Replacing param_get_int with param_get_byte resolves this issue. | ||||
